Sedalia Police Reports For December 30, 2021

Wednesday night, Officers responded to the 2500 block of Dennis Road in reference to found property. Christopher Cowles stated computer equipment was left on his front porch, and he doesn't know where it came from. The equipment was collected and placed into evidence as found property.

Early Thursday morning, Officers conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Sneed Avenue. During a PC search, a marijuana bong was located and seized for destruction. No charges are being pursued.

Sedalia Police stopped a car in the area of East Third Street and South Lafayette Avenue Wednesday night for failing to stop prior to the stop line. Officers also suspected the driver's status was revoked. The driver was a revoked subject. Elios Leija Murillo, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold for a felony charge of Driving While Revoked. A charge of No Proof of Insurance is also being requested.

Officers attempted to conduct a vehicle check at Duke Manufacturing in the area of West Main Street and Winchester Drive Wednesday evening. The vehicle left the lot and after turning east on West Main Street, Officers noticed it parked at Consolidated Electrical Distributors, 101 Winchester Drive. Officers made contact with the vehicle and the driver. Vladimir T. Shalnev, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked, a Failure to Appear warrant for Driving While Revoked, and another warrant for Driving While Revoked. Shalnev also had a warrant out of Texas with a $5,000 bond.

Last Saturday evening, Officers responded to the 400 Welch Court for a subject bleeding. When Officers arrived, they located a male who had been stabbed. Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that the subject's neighbor had stabbed him after an argument. The suspect is known, and charges are being sought.

A Detective with the Crime Resolution Unit conducted a vehicle stop at West 10th Street and South Limit Avenue Tuesday afternoon for a traffic violation. During the stop, the Detective smelled the odor of illegal drugs coming from the vehicle, which led to a probable cause search of the vehicle. During the search, items related to illegal drug activity were found and seized. Further during the contact, the passenger, Stanton Tray Vaughn, 20, of Green Ridge, was found to be a Fugitive From Justice from the state of Oklahoma for sex crimes. Vaughn was arrested without incident and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending charges.

Wednesday morning, the Sedalia Police Department took a report over the phone in regards to forgery. Alexia D. Drum reported that someone used her personal information in an attempt to obtain state and/or federal resources.
