Sedalia Police reports 1-4-18

On Wednesday, Sedalia Police took a burglary report from Susan R. Shelton, who reported she was missing $8,450 in jewelry from her residence in the 1200 block of S. Lamine. Several persons of interest were named by the victim, but not located for questioning.

On Tuesday evening, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a green Honda at 9th and Montgomery on a vehicle for disobeying stop signs at 9th and Center and 9th and Engineer. According to a report, the vehicle was reported stolen from the 4500 block of S. Limit on Dec. 21. The vehicle fled from the officer and a pursuit ensued. Police lost track of the vehicle near Route E and Maltsbarger Road. Later that same day, Pettis County deputies identified and located the suspect, 37-year-old Matthew Wayne Jones of Sedalia. He was arrested on Pettis County charges. Then the SPD arrested him for 1st Degree Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and Felony Resisting Arrest.


 

On Wednesday night, Brenda Hoehns of Sedalia reported the theft of $60 from her purse. There us a male suspect in the case.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 33-year-old Brandon Keith Vogan of Sedalia on a Cooper County warrant at the Sedalia Police Department Wednesday morning. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $144 bond.


 

Sedalia Police arrested 39-year-old Billy Joe Hill of Sedalia on a Probation and Parole warrant Wednesday afternoon after officers conducted warrant check in the 300 block of W. 10th. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

On New Year's Eve, a victim reported a hit-and-run that occurred to her 2002 Lexus in the Dollar General parking lot, 713 E. Broadway. There was damage to the victim's rear passenger bumper, according to the report.


 

On Wednesday at 3:03 a.m., Sedalia Police were called to Bothwell Regional Health Center ER, 601 E. 14th after receiving a disturbance call. According to a report, 17-year-old Gage Anderson Fancher was found to be highly intoxicated and underage. He was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a charge of Minor in Possession of Alcohol.


 

On Wednesday at 11:23 p.m., Sedalia Police arrested 17-year-old Jazzmyn J. Clark of Sedalia at 820 S. Limit, on four charges: two Lee's Summit warrants (traffic) with a court date of Jan. 25; one Pettis County warrant (stealing) with a court date of Jan. 23 and a $150 bond; and a Municipal warrant (no insurance) with a Feb. 7 court date and a $50 bond.


 

Sarah McAteer, 27, Sedalia, was arrested on a Municipal summons after Sedalia Police assisted a driver whose vehicle was broke down at Main and Grand on Wednesday evening. A computer check revealed the summons. She was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $50 bond.


 

John E. Franken, 38, homeless, was arrested after a traffic stop for improper registration at 15th and Engineer around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was wanted on a Pettis County warrant (dangerous drugs). Franken was taken to the Pettis County Jail on a $7,500 cash or surety bond, with a court date TBA.

On Wednesday, evening Hardee's, 1400 S. Limit, reported a broken window on the south side of the business.


 

On Thursday at 1:46 a.m., Robert Anthony England reported a broken driver's side window on his 2006 Dodge Town and Country van, which caused $150 in damage. There are no suspects.
