Thursday evening, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 2200 block of East 12th Street for a medical report. The caller told Dispatch that the victim was in the bathtub, submerged in water, and she could not get him out. Officers arrived on scene after medical personnel and fire, who determined the subject had passed away.


 

Early Friday morning, Officers responded to the 1400 block of East 12th Street in reference to a 911 call. Officers made contact with a male who stated that someone was trying to kill him and he needed to go somewhere safe. The male eventually agreed to go home. The male was being transported home in the back of an Officer's patrol car when he started to yell and bang his hands against the partition. The male opened the partition from the back seat and slapped the Officer in the face while driving. The Officer immediately pulled over and secured the subject in handcuffs. Anthony Rojas, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the ER for a fit for confinement check and then transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold. Charges of Assault on a Law Enforcement Officers and Possession of Marijuana will be submitted to the prosecutor.


 

Thursday evening, Officers responded to the 2400 block of West 2nd Street Terrace in reference to an assault that was no longer in progress. The victim and a witness described the incident in which the victim, who is a juvenile, was assaulted by an adult unrelated to him. Several witness statements were gathered. Wade R. Supernault, 38, of Sedalia, was later located and arrested for Assault in the 3rd Degree and Endangering the Welfare of a Child in the 1st Degree. Supernault was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

Sedalia Police initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with no front license plates and registration that did not come back to the vehicle Thursday night in the area of South Ohio and East Second Street. During the stop, Officers gained consent from the driver to search the vehicle. A controlled substance, alcohol and a firearm were found in the vehicle. The driver was found to not be driving while intoxicated, and was released from the scene to a third party. State charges were later submitted for Possession of a Controlled Substance and Abuse and Lose to the Pettis County Prosecutor. There was no further information in the report.


 

Thursday evening, Officers took a report of found property in the Police Department lobby. Eric Fite turned in a bicycle he had found behind his house, near the 2500 block of Stacey Lane.


 

In the early morning hours last Sunday, a truck was stopped in the area of East 7th Street and South Arlington Avenue for speeding and failing to maintain its lane. A probable cause search of the truck revealed marijuana. Joshua Madison Morrill, 33, of Sedalia, was released with a Sedalia Municipal summons for Possession of Marijuana with a court date.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to a hit and run accident which had just occurred at the intersection of South Grand and West 16th Street. While the incident was captured on video, the suspect vehicle was not located. Officers noted in the report that it doesn't appear the vehicle that left was the vehicle that caused the accident.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the parking lot of the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway, in regard to a hit and run which had occurred in the parking lot. Kelsey Young stated that she was walking to the store and a vehicle had backed up into them, causing injury. The suspect was identified and the incident was found to be accidental, as they were unaware they had hit anyone. No charges are being requested at this time.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Sarah N. Priesendorf came to the Police Department lobby and stated that she had been assaulted, stating that a suspect had pulled her hair. Officers were unable to contact the suspect, although they did speak with a witness who stated that while the victim and the suspect had been in an argument, it had never gotten physical.


 

On the afternoon of December 31st, Officers responded to the 1000 block of South Ohio for a report involving fraudulent use of a debit card. On arrival, Officers spoke with Shirley A. Campbell, who stated her bank card went missing and ATM withdrawals in the amount of $406.00 have been charged to the account. The suspect has been identified. State charges of Stealing, Fraudulent Use of a Debit Device, and Financial Exploitation of the Disabled are being requested.
