Early Monday morning, Officers received a call regarding an attempted vehicle theft near the 1800 block of South Prospect Avenue. Officers spoke with Ashly McGovern, and obtained a description of the suspect. The suspect has not been located at this time.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of North Prospect Avenue early Monday morning in reference to a structure fire. Officers arrived on scene and located the residence actively on fire. The Sedalia Fire Department responded, and the fire was put out.


 

Sunday night, Officers received a call regarding a disturbance in the 600 block of North Quincy Avenue. Officers spoke to both parties involved. It was then determined domestic violence had taken place. The primary aggressor was determined, and the intoxicated suspect was arrested. Rodolfo Ruiz, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Ruiz was transported to the Pettis County jail to be booked in, and then placed on 24-hour hold.

Officers responded to the 900 block of East 14th Street late Sunday night to investigate a report of a disturbance after a 911 call. After an on-scene investigation, it was determined a domestic incident had occurred, with injury. Maria Alejandra Nava Nava, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Nava Nava, who was intoxicated at the time, was booked in, and placed on a 24-hour hold.


 

Sunday morning, Officers responded to the 1300 block of South Beacon Avenue in reference to an active fight in progress. Officers arrived on scene, and located intoxicated two males actively fighting. The males were separated and identified. The subject’s information was checked with Dispatch, and one of the men was found to have an active Johnson County warrant for his arrest. Teon D. Stewart, 24, of Knob Noster, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Stewart was transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending a $150 cash only bond.


 

Saturday night, Officers responded to the 600 block of East 10th Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers gathered enough information to arrest the primary aggressor, who was intoxicated at the time. Levi G. Bell, 41, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree and Sexual Abuse in the 2nd Degree*. Bell was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, pending a cash or surety bond of $15,000 with bond condition of no contact with the victims. Bell was placed on a 24-hour hold.


 

Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to a hit and run accident in the 200 block of West 4th Street. A victim and a witness said a vehicle backed into the victim’s vehicle before leaving.


 

On the morning of January 22nd, OfficerS made contact with the owners of a property in the 1700 block of West 9th Street. Martha Paez reported that during the overnight hours, their business was broken into and items were stolen. The owners estimated the value of the items at $9588.00.


 

Friday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Lamine Avenue in reference to a disturbance. When Officers arrived, it was determined the disturbance was a drunken altercation between roommates. A primary physical aggressor was determined, and the suspect was arrested. Roy Lee Neighbors, 53, of Sedalia was arrested on a charge of Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree. Neighbors was transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a stop on a vehicle that had failed to stop at a stop sign Friday afternoon. During the duration of the stop, it was determined the driver had a revoked driving status. Risao Kerat Fred, 56, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Driving While Revoked. Fred was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.


 

On the night of January 23rd, Officers received a call regarding a past theft near the 2900 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Officers met with the cashier of Vapor Maven, who provided a description of the suspect. A report was submitted.


 

* 24PT-CR00102 in Casenet says that Bell’s charges have been amended to one count of felony Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree, and one count of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. However, in 23PT-CR01179-01, an arraignment is scheduled for Bell in February. Charge information was listed as “unavailable”.
