Last Friday night, Officers observed a vehicle drive over a curb/retaining wall at the Phillips 66, 216 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers made contact with the driver, and during the course of the investigation it was determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he failed to provide an adequate breath sample and refused to provide a blood sample. A search warrant was obtained, and a blood draw was conducted. Isidro Alejo Ubaldo, 43, of Sedalia, was then transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated.


 

Saturday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the apartments in the 800 block of La Grand Drive in reference to a disturbance with weapons. One of the parties was said to be suicidal, and had knives. Dorothy C. Canada, 19, Homeless, was taken into protective custody. Canada was released to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Break Time store, 101 Rebar Road Saturday evening in reference to a disturbance. Officers made contact with the caller, who stated that during the exchange of a child, the child's father lost his temper. He began to threaten and make aggressive gestures towards the caller and the caller's passenger. Austin E. Smith, 32, of Lincoln, was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree, Harassment in the 2nd Degree, and Harassment in the 1st Degree. Smith was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.


 

In the early morning hours of New Year's Day, Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Welch Court for a report of a male that was trespassing at the address and refused to leave. Officers told the male to leave, and he did. Drug paraphernalia was found in the residence. It was seized for destruction, and placed into evidence.


 

Officers responded to the Holiday Inn Express, 4001 West Broadway Boulevard early Sunday morning to assist in a civil matter. A report was completed.


 

Sedalia Police took a report of theft Sunday morning. The victim stated someone had stolen $50 from her in the 300 block of North Quincy Avenue.


 

Late Friday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a passenger vehicle near the intersection of South Engineer Avenue and East 10th Street. The driver was identified and found to have a suspended driving status. He also had warrants from Pettis and Clay County for his arrest. Brook Edward Dowell, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended, a Sedalia Municipal Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Suspended, a Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway While Suspended, a Clay County Failure to Appear warrant for Displaying the License Plates of Another Person, and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Dowell was arrested and placed on a 24 hour hold. Bond on the Clay County warrants was set at $500 cash or surety. The bond on the Pettis County warrant was set at $200 cash only. The Sedalia warrant's bond held a cost of $1500 cash or surety.

Friday afternoon, an Officer was dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft report. Chester Spradling said one of his license plates was stolen in the 100 block of South Limit Avenue in the days prior to the report. The license plate was entered into NCIC and MULES as stolen.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 100 block of East 31st Street Friday night. Contact was made with the suspect, Robin E. Bell, 65, of Sedalia. Bell was found to have a Taney County warrant for her arrest from 2013 on charges of felony Passing Bad Checks. Bell was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $10,000 cash only bond.


 

Friday afternoon, Emergency Crews were dispatched to the Sedalia Post Office, 405 East 5th Street, in reference to a male who was unresponsive. The male was in cardiac arrest. Dispatch advised the subject may have been overdosing. Upon arrival an SPD Officer located the victim on the ground in the parking lot and found him in very poor condition. The Officer administered three doses of NARCAN, which were effective. Sedalia Fire and PCAD personnel arrived on scene and continued life saving measures. The unnamed subject was transported to the BRHC for further treatment. Officers located a measurable amount of suspected fentanyl on the scene.


 

Officers conducted a vehicle stop at the Dairy Queen restaurant, 1811 South Limit Avenue Friday afternoon. Officers made contact with the driver, and determined he was driving while intoxicated. Joshua S. Briden, 41, of Deepwater, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Briden was transported to the SPD for further processing. Briden was then booked and released.


 

On the morning of New Year's Day, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West Pettis Street in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers met with the parties involved. They learned a minor physical altercation had occurred between the two. There were no injuries, and a primary aggressor could not be determined.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of South Park Avenue early Sunday morning in reference to an attempted arson. The resident there stated there were several attempts to catch the house on fire via flammable material and propellants.


 

Saturday morning, Officers conducted a warrant check near the intersection of East 13th Street and South Ingram Avenue. Brandon Dean Dunn, 24, of Branson, was arrested for a Parole Violation warrant out of Cedar County on original charges of felony Receiving Stolen Property. Dunn also had a Failure to Appear warrant out of Hickory County on original charges of Speeding and Careless and Imprudent Driving. Dunn was transported to the Pettis County Jail with no bond.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1000 block of East 3rd Street Sunday afternoon to investigate a report of property damage. Upon arrival, Officers met with Dustin McNelly. McNelly showed Officers the west side of the residence living room window that was broken. It did not appear that anyone had actually attempted to get into the residence. It is unknown what caused the window glass to break.


 

Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of South Park Avenue in reference to a property damage that occurred following a domestic violence incident. The caller stated that his finance struck him in the head several times with a closed fist. The suspect then pointed a loaded firearm at him, his mother, and his daughter, before pushing over his motorcycle and leaving. The intoxicated suspect showed back up on the scene, and was placed under arrest. Anissa M. Book, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held pending charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree, Property Damage in the 1st Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Assault in the 4th Degree.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Quincy Avenue Sunday afternoon. The driver was arrested for Driving With Blood Alcohol Content. Jennifer L. Carter, 43, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 12 hour protective custody hold.


 

Friday evening, Officers responded to the Pizza Hut, 1425 South Limit Avenue, for a report of fraudulent currency. Officers collected the fraudulent currency, and a report has been completed.


 

Officers responded to Creative Audio, 2127 West Broadway Boulevard Thursday evening in reference to a theft. Officers spoke with an employee, who stated two individuals entered the store and walked out with a set of speakers. The suspects made no attempt to pay for them. The suspects have not been identified.


 

Sunday night, Officers were dispatched to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th street for a subject check. Upon arrival, Officers identified the subject and placed him under arrest. Sergio Lazaro Marcos, 44, Homeless, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a Safekeeping hold.


 

In the early morning hours of January 2nd, Officers responded to the Best Western, 3402 South Limit Avenue, in reference to a 911 hang up call. When Officers arrived, they made contact with the caller as the suspect tried to leave. The suspect attempted to flee, resulting in a short foot pursuit. The caller stated the suspect had threatened her and broke a computer monitor. William Harrison Howe III, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Howe was held pending charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree and Resisting Arrest.


 

Sunday evening, Officers responded to the 600 block of East 17th Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. When Officers arrived, a female was located with two knives in her hands. After talking with the female, the Officers were able to get her to put the knives down. The female was transported to the BRHC for evaluation.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 2200 block of East 12th Street Saturday evening in reference to a dog bite. When Officers arrived, two victims were located on the ground. The victims were treated at the BRHC for their injuries. The two dogs involved in the attack were quarantined.


 

Saturday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 700 block of West 4th Street in reference to an open door on a residence. When Officers arrived, it was determined there was no one in the house. Three dogs were located, in poor condition. The dogs appeared to have been abandoned. Animal Control was contacted, and the animals were removed. Code enforcement was notified due to the state of the residence.
