
Sedalia Police Reports for July 12, 2024

Friday morning, a vehicle was stopped near West 4th Street and South Warren Avenue for failing to signal a turn, and displaying expired plates. The driver was intoxicated. Scott A. West, 50, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender). West was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, pending release to a sober person.
Officers stopped a man on a bicycle for a city ordinance violation Friday morning in the area of West Broadway Boulevard and South Quincy Avenue. A consent search reveled items related to drug activity. Christopher Nicholas Steck, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested on a count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
On the night of July 10th, a car was stopped for failing to maintain its lane. The car was stopped in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Garfield Avenue. The driver was found to be intoxicated by drugs. Linda Fern Allred, 33, of Pilot Grove Missouri, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Allred was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.
Thursday night, Sedalia Police made contact with a subject at the Sonic Drive In restaurant, 300 West Broadway Boulevard regarding warrant check. The driver had three Failure to Appear warrants from Sunrise Beach PD on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility, Displaying and Possession of the License Plates of Another Person, and Speeding (16 to 19 MPH Over). Cameron Lee Wooten, 26, of Otterville, was arrested for his FTA warrants*. The report notes the bond for the three warrants totals at $316.00 cash only, and that Wooten is to be released after 12 hours if he is unable to bond.

Sedalia Police responded to the Menard’s store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue for a report of theft Thursday evening. The investigation is ongoing.
Thursday night, Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of McAnally Court. A subject on scene was found to have a FTA warrant for their arrest from Warrensburg from 2017. Cheslea Erin Kinner, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested for her warrant on an original charges of Driving While Suspended. Bond was set at $350.00 cash or surety.
Officers were dispatched to the area of 500 North Prospect Avenue in reference to the theft of a motor vehicle. Officers spoke with Pamela Ehlers, the reporting party. Officers obtained subject information and area submitting charges for the theft of the motor vehicle.
Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the area of the 1000 block of South Monroe Avenue in reference to found property. Officers spoke with Alexandria N. Barr. Officers collected a large kitchen knife in the roadway, and it was placed in the property room as found property.
Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in regards to a theft Wednesday morning. Officers spoke with Michelle Ross, who stated the theft occurred in the 300 block of East 2nd Street. Officers gathered information to generate a report, but there are no suspects at this time.
Wednesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to that rea of the 900 block of South Winchester Drive in reference to a theft. On arrival, Officers met with Kimberly Goetz. Officers gathered information to generate a report.
Tuesday afternoon, Officers responded to the 600 block of North Missouri Avenue to take a report of theft. Contact was made with a male subject, who reported a set of bleachers were stolen from the property sometime in the past week.
On the morning of April 1st, 2024, Officers took a report of a theft that occurred at Osage Gun and Pawn, 116 West Main Street. The victim’s lawnmower had been stolen from his business. The lawnmower was recovered on July 8th. The suspect was contacted on July 11th. Cody Jay Hicks, 34, Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Stealing. Hicks was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.
Sedalia Police responded to the O Reilly Auto Parts, 2414 West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, the person was asked to leave the business. The suspect refused repeatedly. Management wanted to press charges for Trespassing. Dwight Albert Trester II, 62, of Sedalia, was arrested for Trespassing in the 1st Degree. Trester was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.

Casenet 704335655 also notes Wooten also has a warrant from Boone County on original charges of Speeding (16-19 MPH). The Capias Warrant is issued for Boone and surrounding Counties only. Bond set at ROR.
