
Sedalia Police Reports for July 15, 2024

Saturday morning, Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Prospect Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with the reporting party, who sated she had been assaulted by her husband. The reporting party, the report notes, had obvious injuries. Officers made contact with the suspect, Pedro Pascual Herrera, 34, of the address, and arrested him on a charge of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Pascual Herrera was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.
Friday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with excessively dark window tint near West Broadway Boulevard and south Missouri Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. James Lamar Long Jr., 56, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol and Drugs, Persistent Offender). Long was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.
Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Arby’s restaurant, 2701 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a subject check. When Officers arrived, they observed the subject on the rail road tracks striking a piece of wood against the tracks. Officers made contact with the subject and he was arrested for Trespassing. In his possession was a credit card that did not belong to him. Dustin Eugene Galloway, 41, of Higginsville, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked. Three hour later, Officers were dispatched to the 3000 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a report of a stolen vehicle. When Officers arrived, they spoke with the caller, who stated her car had been taken without her permission by an acquaintance. She said she found the car, but was unable to locate the keys. Galloway was arrested for a charge of Stealing a Motor Vehicle and then placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
Early Friday morning, Officers observed a motorcycle speeding on East Broadway Boulevard near South Massachusetts Avenue. Officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the motorcycle, but it accelerated. Officers had initially elected not to pursue the vehicle, but soon after it failed to negotiate a turn at East 14th Street and South Lamine Avenue, and crashed. The rider was located and received medical attention. It was determined the rider was intoxicated and he was arrested. A blood draw was conducted, and the suspect was released at the BRHC after receiving medical treatment. Tyler Marcum, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol), and Resisting Arrest.
Early Friday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a white passenger car in the area of West 24th Street and South Kentucky Avenue. Officers made contact with the driver, and checked her information with Dispatch. Dispatch advised the suspect had a possible warrant out of Lafayette County for Failure to Appear. Trinity Mae Scribner, 20, of Sedalia, was arrested for her FTA warrant on original charges of Speeding 1-5 MPH Over). Scribner was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash only bond of $145.00.
Sunday evening, Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation near North Lamine Avenue and East Pettis Street. The driver was found to have a revoked license, and while they were being placed under arrest, they began resisting. The suspect was taken into custody, where he was found to have a controlled substance on his person. George Edward Buckner Sr., 61, Homeless, was arrested on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, felony Driving While Revoked, felony Tampering With Physical Evidence, and felony Resisting Arrest. Buckner was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24-hour hold.
Sunday afternoon, a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle with improper registration. During the duration of the stop, the driver was found to have a Pettis County warrant. Serghei Boris Ciobanu, 37, of Smithton, was arrested for his FTA warrant on original charges of Operating A Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License. Bond was set at $238.50 cash only.
Friday afternoon, Officers investigated a traffic crash in the area of West Broadway Boulevard east of the Winchester Drive intersection. Upon arrival, it was found one of the drivers had no license or insurance. Samantha A. Maya Lozano, 30, of La Monte, was arrested for charges of Operator’s License Required, and No Proof of Insurance. Lozano was released on the scene with a citation.
On the evening of July 13th, Officers responded to the 1200 block of South Quincy Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance. The caller, a juvenile, stated her father was throwing things around the house and had hit her mother in the ear. Officers knocked on the front door, spoke with both adults, and began an investigation. Officers noticed liquid on the floor by the front door, on the table, and on the walls. When asked what happened, the suspect said he had spilled a cup by knocking it over. Officers saw the mug on the floor, where the liquid trail was leading on the opposite side of the room. Officers asked if he had knocked it across the room, and he stated he spilled it, then moved it. Officers walked through the residence, where they noticed a dish of potatoes on the floor in a corner of the kitchen that were smashed. Officers asked what happened with the potatoes, and the suspect stated he was cleaning out the fridge and had accidentally stepped on them. In the backyard of the residence, the victim caller arrived on scene. The suspect began speaking to the victim. Officers quickly discovered an order of protection was in place with the victim, with the caller being the reporting party. The order prohibited the suspect with communicating with the protected party at all. Daniel Joseph Little, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Violation of An Ex Parte (Child Protection) and two counts of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Little was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check in the 1900 block of South Quincy Avenue Saturday night. Officers made contact with a subject, and ran his information through Dispatch. It was confirmed he had multiple warrants out of Pettis County for his arrest. All three were Failure to Appear warrants, and all three were Nuisance Violation tickets. Andrew Joseph Jacobs, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested for his FTA warrants. Jacobs was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked, pending a cash only bond of $180 total.
Sunday morning, Officers observed a subject walking with a bike in the parking lot at East Broadway Boulevard and South Emmet Avenue. The suspect was swaying and Officers observed him fall over while attempting to stand with the bike. Officers made contact with the suspect, who was highly intoxicated and uncooperative. The suspect refused to provide his name or information. The suspect was determined to not be in the condition to care for himself. Diego Chavez-Portillo, 31 of Sedalia, was taken into custody to be placed on a 12-hour Safekeeping hold. Chavez-Portillo was transported to the BRHC for a fit for confinement check.
Officers were dispatched to the area of South Quincy Avenue and West 4th Street Friday evening to investigate reports of an intoxicated driver that had been involved in a crash. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and then transported to the Sedalia Police Department where he provided a breath sample on the DMT that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Antonio Gonzales Aguirre, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, then booked and released at SPD.
On the morning of July 10th, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was property displaying registration plates. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the driver had a suspended driving status. Lee Woodyard, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Woodyard was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.
Friday evening, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was not displaying the front license plate, and the rear license plate was expired. The stop took place near South Park Avenue and West 4rh Street. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the driver had a suspended driving status. Lonnie Nelson, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Nelson was transported to the Sedalia Police Department to be fingerprinted, and then issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket.
Friday evening, Officers conducted an investigative vehicle stop near South Grand Avenue and West 11th Street. During the course of the investigation, it was confirmed the driver had a suspended driving status. Arnoldo Paau Tec, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Paau Tec was issued a UTT for Driving While Suspended.
On the morning of July 13th, Officers conducted a warrant check in the 800 block of East 4th Street. Officers made contact with a male subject on the front porch of the residence and ran his information through Dispatch. He was found to have two active felony warrants on original charges of felony Driving While Revoked. Jonathan Wayne Ayers, 37, of Sedalia, was arrested for his two warrants, transported to the Pettis County jail, and was booked with no bond.
Friday evening, Officers spoke to the Wal Mart Asset Protection team in the lobby of the Police Headquarters. AP reported a theft that occurred at the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, on July 12th. The employees stated a male subject came into the store and concealed items on his person. The suspect left the store without paying for the items.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to a theft report Friday afternoon. Leslie Spencer stated their vehicle was at Collision Leaders of Sedalia, 419 Thompson Road, for repairs. While there, someone stole one of the license plates off of the vehicle.
Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Comfort Inn, 3600 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of a missing person. Upon arrival, it was discovered the person in question was not there. Officers investigated the situation and were able to make contact with the reported person. She was safe and not in any danger.
Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Sonic Drive In, 300 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of found property. Ryan Johnson stated several bullets were located behind the business’ dumpster. The bullets were collected and placed into found property.
On the morning of July 9th, Officers were dispatched to the National TV and Rental, 1400 South Limit Avenue Suite 10, for a report of theft of a rental property. Officers arrived on scene, gathered pertinent information from the complainant, and a report was completed.
Officers were called to the 2200 block of South Grand Avenue Friday evening in reference to a disturbance. Officers spoke with Samuel Terry-Casiloo and gathered information to generate a report.
Sedalia Police responded to the 300 block of Scott Joplin Court Friday night in reference to a disturbance. All of the parties’ information was run through Dispatch, and it was confirmed the subject had an active warrant out of Pettis County. Nakendra S. McGee, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested for her Failure to Appear warrant on an original charge of Shoplifting from 2023. McGee was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a cash only bond of $250.00.
Friday night, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a black Chevrolet Malibu with no front license plate in the area of East 9th Street and South Marvin Avenue. Officers made contact with the suspect, who provided a name which came back not on file. The suspect was later identified through a portable fingerprint scanner. The suspect was placed under arrest. Incident to arrest, a baggie containing a crystalline substance was located on the driver’s floorboard of the vehicle. The substance was field tested for methamphetamine, with a positive result. Franciso Salvador, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Identity Theft**. Salvador was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked.
Officers responded to a report of a peace disturbance behind the apartment complex in the 900 block of Winchester Avenue Friday night. Upon arrival, one subject was identified as having an active warrant for their arrest. Jacolby Scott Monteer, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Revoked. Bond was set at $238.50 cash only.
Friday evening, Officers responded to a domestic disturbance in the 2200 block of East Broadway Boulevard. According to the probable cause statement, the victim described they were on the couch watching a movie when the suspect, who had been drinking, approached them. He took a bite from the victim’s birthday cake, and then spit that cake into the victim’s face. Officers noticed a bruise on the inside of the victim’s arm. When asked about it, the victim stated it was from the day before when the suspect was holding them and yelling at them. Officers learned the suspect had torn up the kitchen, and then cleaned it up and went to the bedroom to “act asleep”. Officers discovered the destroyed cake, and spills on the counter, which were consistent with the victim’s story. It was determined the suspect was the primary physical aggressor. Donald Wayne Harris II, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree and Aggravated Assault in the 4th Degree. Harris was transported to the Pettis County Jail, pending a cash or surety bond of $2500.
Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Sedalia police Department lobby for a report of an assault that occurred in the SPD parking lot. Upon review of the camera footage, Officers determined there was no evidence to substantiate the claim that an assault occurred. Information was gathered for reporting purposes. No charges are to be submitted in reference to the report.
Friday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of East 7th Street and South Osage Avenue***. The stop was conducted on a truck failing to display its registration. Upon further investigation, Officers discovered the driver was in operation of the vehicle with a revoked license. Terence Wade Wehlry Jr., 33, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Driving While Revoked, Failure to Register Annually with the DOR, No Proof of Insurance, and Failure to Property Display License Plates.
Officers made contact with Laney Ann Crabtree on the morning of July 8th in reference to a fraud that occurred in the 1000 block of Winchester Drive. The suspect was identified, and charges were submitted to the Pettis County Prosecutor.
Sunday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 3300 block of West 32nd Street for a report of a death. A report was generated in reference to the incident.
On the morning of July 8th, Officers were dispatched to a report of a crash that occurred at West 16th Street and Thompson Boulevard. Upon arrival, Officers found one of the drivers was driving while their license was suspended. Michael Allen Slack, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Slack was released with a city summons on scene.
*The Nuisance Violation tickets were cited for Failed to Remove Overgrown Foliage, Failed to Remove Trailers and Failed to Remove and/or License the Unlicensed Inoperable Vehicle on the Property.
**The report notes Salvador’s physical condition as “intoxicated”. However, no charges of Driving While Intoxicated were mentioned in the report.
***The narrative of the report states the stop was conducted at “the intersection of 7th and Osage”, while the location of the arrest is listed as “East 3rd Street and South Ohio Avenue”.
