
Sedalia Police Reports for July 17, 2024

Early Wednesday morning, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a truck that was following too closely and failing to maintain its lane. The stop took place near Thompson Boulevard and Brianna Boulevard. The driver was found to have a suspended driving license. Francisco Marcos Torres, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended, Following Too Closely, and No Proof of Insurance. Torres was released with a citation on scene.
A records check of a car revealed two recent stops where the driver had no license. The check took place in the early morning hours Wednesday morning in the area of West 16th Street and South Barrett Avenue. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the car, and made contact with the driver. Officers recognized the driver as the subject in question. Diego Aguare Tiu, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for Operator’s License Required. Tiu was released on scene with a court summons.
Early Wednesday morning, Officers observed a red Ford Focus turn onto eastbound Broadway boulevard from the southbound South Marvin Avenue, conducting an improper turn. The vehicle went directly into the outside lane. Officers caught up to it in the area of East 11th Street and South Center Avenue. Officers checked the displayed license plates, which returned to a subject with a suspended license. Roger Wayne Lindsey Sr., 60, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Lindsey was issued a municipal court summons and released on scene.

Tuesday night, Officers took a theft report from the lobby of the Police Department. A phone belonging to the victim was stolen by a known suspect. The suspect was located shortly after. Josephine C. Marek, 21, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Stealing. Marek was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.
On the morning of May 25th, Officers observed a local white tow truck appear to make no attempt to stop at a northbound stop sign on South Sneed while it turned onto eastbound West Broadway Boulevard. Officers contacted the driver, who was a registered sex offender. The driver was told he was violating his statutory obligations by failing to register the vehicle he was operating. The driver failed to comply at the conclusion of the stop with the directive to add the trucks to the registry. Contact was made again with him on July 16th, and he had been observed another three times operating trucks not listed on his sex offender registry. Officers are requesting four felony charges of Failure to Register As a Sex Offender and a charge of Failure to Obey a Stop Sign on the driver, who was not named in the report.
On the morning of July 14th, Officers took a report of found property near the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive. The owner of the property was later located, and the property was returned to them.
