On June 14th, Sedalia Police began investigating a burglary and theft that occurred in the 1000 block of East 6th Street. Multiple items were reported stolen by the victim. On July 1st, The Sedalia Police Department's Criminal Investigations Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit, and Patrol Officers conducted a search warrant at 1009 East 6th Street. During the search, a large quantity of stolen property from the burglary was recovered. The suspect wasn't present when the search warrant was executed, but the following charges are being requested against Darayn M. Harrison, aged 25: Burglary in the 2nd Degree, felony Stealing, and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree.


 

Early Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to the BRHC ER for a gun shot victim. Officers spoke to the victim and a witness. The victim had field stripped his pistol, and in the process had a negligent discharge and shot himself in the hand. The injury is minor and not life threatening. The victim was treated and released from the hospital.


 

Thursday night, a car was stopped in the area of West 16th Street and South Vermont Avenue for moving violations. Contact was made with the driver, who provided someone else's identity. Josefina Rubio-Pascual, 28, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on state charges of Identity Theft and Driving Without a License. Rubio-Pascual was placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the Eagle Stop store, 1515 Thompson Boulevard in reference to a theft Thursday night. The victim stated that a bag of money was left on the counter when they went to help another customer. When they came back to check the bag, the money was missing. A suspect has been identified but not located yet. Charges will be sent to the prosecutor for review.


 

Early Friday morning, Officers performed a traffic stop on a Ford SUV, as the vehicle had an unreadable license plate. The traffic stop took place in the 2800 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Officers spoke to the driver and a single occupant, and then performed a computer check through Dispatch. It was discovered the driver had two Failure to Appear warrants. One of the warrants was from Pettis County on original charges Driving Without Financial Responsibility, and the other was from Benton County on original charges of Possession of Marijuana. Zachary Taylor Robitsch, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, with bond set at $500 cash or surety and $60 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of South Grand Avenue and West 16th Street early Friday morning. During the stop, the driver of the vehicle was found to have an active Failure to Appear warrant out of Pettis County on original charges of Defective Equipment. Susan D. McNeal, 40, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where the bond on the warrant was set at $200 cash only.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop on Waterloo Drive Thursday evening. The driver of the vehicle was arrested for Driving While Revoked, and he also had an outstanding Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Suspended. Brandon L. Ede, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where the bond was set at $60 cash only for the warrant. Ede was booked and released for the new driving charge.


 

Thursday evening, Officers performed a traffic stop on a black Tahoe as the vehicle had a defective brake light. The traffic stop took place in the area of South Montgomery Avenue and East 3rd Street. Officers spoke to the driver and a single occupant and then performed a computer check through Dispatch. It was learned the occupant had an active Failure to Appear warrant from Pettis County for a moving violation. McKesa Liegh Anne Manion, 33, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where bond was set at $50 cash.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue for a report of a disruptive subject Thursday evening. The subject was contacted, identified, and arrested for an outstanding warrant through Pettis County on original charges of Aggravated Assault. Cecil Glen Keller, 28, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where bond on his warrant was set at $1500 cash or surety.


 

Thursday afternoon, Officers investigated a theft that had occurred in the 1500 block of West 3rd Street. During the investigation, Officers discovered the identity of one of the suspects. Officers went to the 1200 block of West 16th and issued a UTT to Brian W. Monroe, 19, of Sedalia, for Stealing.


 

Sedalia Police spoke with Richard Lavely on the phone Thursday morning in reference to a theft. Lavely, who lives in Pennsylvania, stated money was taken from his account by a subject in Sedalia.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers responded to the intersection of North Ohio Avenue and East Cooper Street in regard to a hit and run. Upon arrival, Officers found that a vehicle had taken out the utility pole on the southeast portion of the intersection. Parts to the suspect vehicle were recovered at the scene. The driver was later found at the Parkview Christian Church and the vehicle was found in an alley just north of the 400 block of East Pettis. The vehicle was towed and Gregory Patrick Watson II, 32, of Independence, was arrested for Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving While Suspended. In collecting his things, Officers found a firearm hidden under his shirt and another one in his bag that were both found to be stolen. The vehicle Watson was driving was also found to be stolen. It was discovered Watson had two active warrants and was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be held as one warrant, for Possession of an Unlawful Weapon, had a $10,000 bond and the other, a Parole Violation warrant on original charges of Burglary in the 2nd Degree had no bond. Watson was charged with Receiving Stolen Property, Tampering With a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, and Felon in Possession of a Concealable Weapon. Later that afternoon, Officers were dispatched to a report of a stolen gun from a vehicle. When Police arrived, they made contact with the victim, identified as Winter N. Hammond, 23, of Sedalia. Hammond stated that sometime overnight, someone took her Glock G43X 9mm pistol from her vehicle. There were no signs of forced entry. After gathering information for the report, a suspect was identified. Watson had been arrested with the pistol on his person. Watson was additionally charged with Stealing From a Motor Vehicle. Photos of the scene were taken and attached to the report. The serial number on the pistol was checked, and it was confirmed to be the one stolen from the victim. The gun was placed into evidence storage and the owner was contacted by phone.


 

On the evening of June 30th, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a black SUV for a lane violation. The vehicle was east bound in the west bound lane of West Main Street near South Ohio Avenue. A computer check of the driver, Anthony H. Bruce, 48, of Warsaw, confirmed his license was suspended. Bruce was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail on charges of Driving While Suspended. Bruce was booked and released. The passenger provided a false name, but was later identified as Darwin Milton Potts, 50, of Columbia. Potts was arrested on a Bates County warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Possession of a Synthetic Cannabinoid. Additional charges of Identity Theft are being requested to the prosecutor for Potts. Potts was given a bond of $2,500 cash or surety and placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Thompson Road for an individual with a reported warrant out of Pettis County. The suspect was identified as Darryl A. Frazier, 55, of Sedalia. The Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Revoked as confirmed. Frazier was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $250 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a subject check in the area of North Osage Avenue and West Morgan Street Thursday afternoon. After further investigation, non scheduled prescription pills were located that belonged to another person. The pills were seized and placed into evidence for safe keeping.


 

On the afternoon of June 30th, Sedalia Police responded to the lobby of the Headquarters for a child investigation. On arrival, Officers spoke with the reporting party about possible indecent exposure involving a child. Information was gathered and a report was completed to further document the incident.


 

Last Sunday afternoon, Officers preformed a traffic stop on a blue Dodge van with no visible license plates at the Casey's store, 716 West 16th Street. Officers made contact with the driver, Lenzie L. Holt, 51, of Sedalia. A computer check through Dispatch found Holt's driving status to be suspended. Holt was arrested for Driving While Suspended, and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Holt booked and released, as he had no prior convictions for Driving While Suspended.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Sedalia Police responded to the 1500 block of East 7th Street for a domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and investigated the incident; it was indicated by both parties they were assaulted by the other. However, there was no evidence to support such claims. One of the parties left the residence. A 12 hour log entry was created due to claims of an Assault.


 

Sunday evening, Officers made a traffic stop at the intersection of East 15th Street and South New York Avenue due to a vehicle having registration expiring in 2020. In the course of the stop, Dispatch revealed the subject had two warrants out of Pettis County for Failing to Register a Motor Vehicle. Ramon Marquis Jamerson, 25, of Cole Camp, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was held on a bond of $250 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop at West Main Street and South Gentry Avenue Sunday afternoon on a vehicle for not using a turn signal. The passenger in the vehicle was discovered to have two warrants out of Pettis County for Failure to Appear on original charges of Failing to Register a Motor Vehicle and Driving Without a Valid License. Pedro Aguirre Yat, 32, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail with a bond of $400. The driver, identified as Juan Aguare Yat, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail for Driving Without a Valid License and issued a uniform citation.
