Early Tuesday morning, Officers were dispatched to a reported disturbance with a weapon in the 200 block of South Missouri. Officers were advised the suspect had left the area in a vehicle. Officers were able to stop the vehicle a few blocks away. James Don Richmond, 39, of Independence, was arrested and formal charges are being requested from the prosecutor's office for Assault in the 3rd Degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Armed Criminal Action.


 

Monday night, Officers responded to the 900 block of Winchester Drive in reference to a warrant check. The subject was identified through Dispatch. The subject was confirmed to have active warrants out of Pettis County. Sherwood K. Limback, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of felony Driving While Revoked, and warrants for felony Harassment in the 1st Degree and Driving While Revoked.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 200 block of South Missouri in reference to a disturbance between an adult male and female. During an investigation, the female subject was confirmed to have an active warrant for Failing to Register a Motor Vehicle out of Platte County. Jasmine Nicole Richmond, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a $130 cash only bond.


 

Officers spoke with the manager of the Break Time store, 808 East Broadway Boulevard, Monday afternoon in reference to a theft. The manager stated that a male subject came into the store on Sunday and stole alcohol. Video evidence was recovered of the theft, but the suspect has not been identified at this time.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers took a report from Cheryl B. Stratton of theft and fraudulent use of a debit card that occurred on May 24th, 2021.

On the night of July 21st, members of the Police Department's Crime Solution Unit received information about criminal activity at the Motel 6, 3402 West Broadway Boulevard. The information was that an individual was using/possessing illegal drugs. Members made contact with an individual renting the room, who admitted to possessing items associated with drug activity. The items were seized as evidence. The individual wasn't arrested at this time due to health issues, but formal charges are being requested through the Pettis County Prosecutor's Office.
