Thursday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near South Montgomery Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard. During the course of the investigation, it was confirmed the driver had a revoked driving status. Rodrigo Quetzecua Marcos, 30, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of felony Driving While Revoked. Marcos was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

Thursday evening, Officers stopped a vehicle in the area of South Missouri Avenue and West 10th Street. A computer check revealed a passenger in the vehicle had a no bond warrant from the Board of Probation and Parole. Jasmine Unique McCartney, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Early Friday morning, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near East 10th Street and South Summit Avenue because it did not signal a turn. During the course of the investigation, it was discovered the driver had a revoked driving status, and a passenger had a FTA warrant. Melissa Lois Dorsey, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Marvin Haynie, 58, of Sweet Springs, was arrested for a Failure to Appear warrant from the City of Sedalia on original charges of Improper Lane Use*. Both Dorsey and Hayne were transported to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Thursday evening, Officers observed a suspect driving a vehicle in the area of West 7th Street and South Moniteau Avenue. Officers knew the suspect had a revoked driving status. Officers initiated a traffic stop on the suspect vehicle, a greenish blue Chevrolet Silverado. Officers made contact with the suspect, who was uncooperative. Officers removed the suspect from the vehicle to place her under arrest. The suspect began pulling away from officers as they attempted to place her hands behind her back for handcuffing. The suspect was then taken to the ground and placed into handcuffs. While being escorted to the patrol unit, the suspect spit on the arresting Officer. The suspect also kicked the Officer before being transported to the Pettis County Jail. Jammie Morgan Newland, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested for felony Assault in the 3rd Degree, felony Resisting Arrest, and misdemeanor Driving While Revoked. Newland was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Officers responded to the 200 block of Rainbow Drive for a report of a burglary in progress early Friday morning. Upon investigation, and speaking with Korey Ann Kommrau, the incident was determined not to be a burglary, but a verbal disturbance. A report was completed to document the incident.


 

On the morning of June 27th, employees of Woods East turned in multiple items of property. The property was placed into evidence for safekeeping.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers met with Carl McCallum in the Police Station lobby. McCallum stated that on the previous day, someone had entered his residence in the 200 block of North Washington Avenue and took approximately $240 worth of quarters. There is a possible suspect in the case, but no contact has been made with them at this time.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop into the main gate** of the Missouri State Fairgrounds on Wednesday evening. The vehicle had been speeding. Upon further investigation, Officers discovered the individual’s driving privileges in Missouri were suspended. Shawn William Grafe, 43, of Independence, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and Exceeding the Speed Limit. Grafe was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


 

Last Sunday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Aldi Grocery Store, 3701 West Broadway Boulevard, in reference to an accident. According to the caller, someone who was driving while intoxicated had ran a vehicle into the curb. After an investigation, a male subject was arrested. Jason Jonah Harvey, 29, of Cole Camp, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender) and Driving While Suspended. Harvey was booked and released to a sober person at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Officers conducted a traffic stop last Sunday night on a vehicle they observed drifting in its lane while travelling well below the speed limit. The vehicle was travelling on West Broadway Boulevard and South Barrett Avenue. Officers had also received a complaint about the subject’s driving. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Alex Pacheco, 25, of Marshall, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender). Pacheco was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked.


 

Wednesday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop near South Ohio Avenue and West 16th Street on a vehicle with expired registration plates. A computer check showed the driver to have a revoked driving status. Leah Fawn Ferolito, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. Ferolito was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket and released at the scene.


 

Early Thursday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Country Club Boulevard and Poplar Place. During the investigation, it was discovered the driver had two Failure to Appear warrants from Pettis County. One warrant was issued in June on an original charge of Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign after the driver was cited in February of 2024. The driver also missed a court appearance on June 3rd, 2024, on a charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Joshua David Hartman, 26 of Sedalia, was arrested for his two warrants and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Total bond was set at $159.00.


 

Officers responded to the 1800 block of South Limit Avenue Wednesday evening in reference to a hit and run accident. Officers made contact with Nathan B. Cramer, who stated his vehicle was struck in the parking lot. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Last Sunday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of West 16th Street in reference to a collision. Officers discovered a driver involved in the collision had a revoked drivers license. State charges are to be submitted on the suspect, who was not named in the report.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the area of South Emmett Avenue and East 6th Street for a report of an intoxicated individual who was trying to get into a vehicle on Wednesday evening. The subject then left the scene and was later located near East Havey Street and North Depp Avenue. Jesse Robert Smith, 57, Homeless, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Smith was placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold at the Pettis County Jail. No charges are being filed against Smith.


 

*The original report listed this name as “Marvin Hayne”. There is no listing in Casenet for a “Marvin Hayne” with a warrant from Sedalia or Pettis County. It was assumed this is a typo by Officer Franken.

**The location of the arrest in the report was given as “2503 West 16th Street”. Officer Page states in the narrative of the report the stop happened at the “main gate”, meaning the stop took place at or near the Centennial Gate of the Fairgrounds, not the main gate on South Limit Avenue.
