Late Tuesday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling the wrong way down a one-way street. The vehicle was stopped near the area of West 2nd Street and South Moniteau Avenue. After a check with Dispatch, it was discovered the driver was driving on a suspended license. Homer C. Lucas, 41, of Otterville, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Lucas was arrested without incident and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released.


Officers took a report of an assault that occurred at the Liberty Park, 1500 West 3rd Street Monday night. Kelsey Gosroski stated she is a coach for youth baseball, and a mother came into the dugout and pushed her. Information was collected, and a report was completed.


Tuesday evening, The Sedalia Police Department’s K9 Unit preformed a subject check on a wanted person in the 1700 block of South Vermont Avenue. The subject had an active arrest warrant out of Pettis County with no bond because she had violated the conditions of her release regarding GPS monitoring. The warrant carried charges of felony Tampering With a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree and felony Stealing. Paris Cheyenne Hill, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested for the warrant. After the arrest, a search incident was performed, which resulted in the seizure of several items related to drug activity. Hill was ultimately booked in on her warrant and one count of Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia, as well as three counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance. While the above contact was engaged, a vehicle related to the wanted person pulled up to the residence. It was determined the driver of the vehicle did not have a valid driver’s license. Scott Randale Whitcher, 32, of Sedalia, was issued a citation for No Driver’s License and released from the scene.

Sedalia Police responded to the 900 block of Winchester Drive to take a report of a missing person Tuesday night. This person is an adult. The caller reported her son had been gone from the home for more than a day, and has been out of contact. Information was collected for the missing person, and he was entered into law enforcement databases as a missing person. No foul play is suspected at this time.


Tuesday afternoon, Officers spoke with Bailey J. Kratzer in the lobby of the Police Department in regards to a theft from a vehicle. Kratzer stated her wallet and other items had been taken from her unlocked vehicle in the area of South Osage Avenue and West 5th Street on June 3rd.


Officers took a theft report of the phone Tuesday morning from Kevin Lawrence Lentz Butler. The theft occurred in the 700 block of East 9th Street. The victim reported that overnight, someone had stolen a bicycle from his yard.


Tuesday morning, Officers conducted a subject check near the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Quincy Avenue. The subject was identified as Sarita Linda Leon, 61, of Sedalia. Dispatch confirmed she had a Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Stealing. Leon was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, with bond set at $250.00 cash only.
