Early Thursday morning, an SUV was stopped at West Broadway and South Harrison Street for moving violations and no license plate lights. After an investigation, the driver was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. A passenger was arrested on a Texas no bond Probation Violation warrant. Nathan Rutherford, 41, of Keneohe Hawaii, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on the warrant and a 24 hour hold on a state charge of Fugitive From Justice. Lynette D. Ehlers, 39, of Sedalia, was transported to the Sedalia Police Headquarters for further testing and then released to a sober person. Ehlers was issued a municipal court summons for Driving While Intoxicated with a court date.


 

Thursday morning, Officers responded to the 700 block of Wilkerson Avenue for a report of a domestic disturbance. One subject had injury to her face but refused treatment. After an investigation, Larry D. Hundley, 46, of Sedalia, was arrested for felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree. Hundley was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges.


 

Officers responded to the 1400 block of East 16th Street for a possible burglary Wednesday night. Officers arrived and made contact with a subject that matched the description from the caller. A check through Dispatch confirmed the subject had an active Pettis County warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Stealing. Scott Dean Woolery, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail with a bond set at $250 cash only.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 600 block of East 27th Street for a report of a disturbance Wednesday night. Dennis Dawson reported that he confronted a subject in the street that he believed had just stolen a neighbor's bicycle. Information on the incident was collected for a general information report, as the victim could not be located.


 

Wednesday night, Sedalia Police, Pettis County Ambulance District and the Sedalia Fire Department responded to the 900 block of Mitchell Road for a report of a medical emergency. Responding personnel were not able to resuscitate the individual. At this time, the cause of death is expected to be medically related, and no foul play is suspected.


 

Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of East 7th Street for a possible domestic assault Wednesday night. While on the scene, all subjects' information was ran through a computer check. Goldie A. Williams, 47, of Sedalia, was found to have a Pettis County Warrant for Stealing. The warrant was confirmed and Williams was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked with a court date and a bond of $1,500 cash or surety.


 

Wednesday night, Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of East 13th Street for a reported domestic disturbance. Officers arrived and spoke to both parties involved. Investigation revealed that am ale, while in possession of a firearm, made threats to a female and put her in fear for her safety. The male subject is a habitual drug user. John M. Cary, 31, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was placed on a 24 hour hold. State charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Habitual Drug User in Possession of a Firearm are being requested.


 

On the evening of March 8th, a motor vehicle was stopped at Broadway and Limit for a traffic violation. During the vehicle stop, consent to search the motor vehicle was requested and granted. The passenger, Joseph Dylan Edward Marquess, 23, of Kansas City, failed to obey lawful orders to exit the vehicle and was subsequently arrested for Resisting Arrest. During a search incidental to an arrest, items related to illegal drug activity were found concealed on his person. Charges of Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Resisting Arrest, and Identity Theft are being sought for Marquess. A probable cause search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of additional items related to illegal drug activity, resulting in the driver, David Andrew Cechvala, 20, of Lawson, to be arrested for Possession of a Dangerous Drug. Both Marquess and Cechvala were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail for processing and placed on 24 hour holds.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway, in regard to a report of property damage. Malik Collins stated that while they were inside the store, someone broke into the vehicle causing damage to the handle of the driver's door. The suspect stole $4 from the center console area. Collins stated they would like to pursue charges.


 

Sedalia Police took a report of a theft of personal property from the 1900 block of West 10th Street Wednesday morning. After follow up, it was determined to be a civil issue.


 

On the afternoon of February 20th, Sedalia Police seized license plates not registered to the particular vehicle nor the operator from a vehicle in the area of East 24th Street and South Massachusetts Avenue. The license plates were brought to the Police Station.


 

Wednesday morning, Sedalia Police were observing westbound traffic on East Broadway Boulevard. Officers noticed a white Lincoln passenger car in the fast lane of East Broadway Boulevard near South Merriam Avenue that appeared to be speeding. Moving radar confirmed the vehicle was speeding. Officers performed a traffic stop on the Lincoln near East Broadway Boulevard and South Brown Avenue. The Officers spoke with the driver, and then performed a computer check through Dispatch, whereupon it was learned that his license was suspended from the State of Florida. Skyler Ray Martz, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked and released with a court date to be determined on a charge of Driving While Suspended.
