This article is compiled from the Sedalia Police Department reports. Saturday night, Officers observed a vehicle traveling westbound on West Main Street with no tail lights. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle in the area of West Main Street and Thompson Avenue. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Mellisa Bedgood, 42, of Knob Noster, was transported to the SPD where she provided a breath sample that showed her blood alcohol concentration to be above 0.08. Bedgood was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender).


Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of Wilkerson Street and South Missouri Avenue early Friday morning to assist with a traffic stop. When Officers arrived, they spoke with the driver. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. Irving Yosimar Catalan Rodriguez, 26, of Sedalia, was transported to the SPD where he provided a breath sample that showed his blood alcohol concentration to be above 0.08. Catalan Rodriguez was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender) and Driving While Revoked.


Monday evening, Officers took a report in the Police Station lobby in reference to a violation of an ex parte. The victim stated that the suspect had been contacting her via text messages, in violation of the order of protection. Contact has not been made with the suspect at this time. State charges are being requested for the violation.


Last Thursday evening, Officers responded to the 800 block of Manor Court in reference to property damage. Denise R. Chisum stated that her grandson's bike was damaged by other juveniles. At this time, the other juveniles have not been identified.


Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Dollar General, 619 North Ohio Avenue early Tuesday morning for a public service incident involving a male who wanted a ride home. The male appeared intoxicated and was a danger to himself. Robert Alvin Pickett, 52, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail and was placed on a 12 hour protective custody hold.


Officers conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South New York Avenue Monday night for a vehicle with a defective license plate light. The driver was found to be revoked out of Missouri. Jeremy Michael Lees, 29, of Independence, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department where he was fingerprinted. Lees was released with a summons for Driving While Revoked.


Tuesday afternoon, Officers met with Michael Edmonson at the Sedalia Police Headquarters. Edmonson stated that while parked at a business in the 900 block of Winchester Drive, two of his vehicle's tires were damaged.


Sedalia Police met with Charles Gilman Tuesday afternoon in the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft. Gilman stated that someone had used his credit card information to fraudulently withdraw money from his checking account using a third party application. At this time, there is a suspect in mind.


Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the area of West 16th Street and South Grand Avenue for a subject check. The caller stated there was a male subject stopping cars and asking them for money. Officers made contact with the subject and ran his information through Dispatch. Dispatch confirmed the subject had a warrant out of Pettis County for Trespassing. Mario A. Madrid, 39, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail.


Officers were dispatched to the Menard's store, 4400 Wisconsin Avenue, for a theft report that occurred the day before. The suspect has possibly been identified, and there is video footage of the incident.
