Sedalia Police Reports For March 28, 2023

Monday evening, Officers conducted a traffic stop at South Stewart Avenue and West 10th Street on a vehicle because it had expired registration. The driver of the vehicle was found to have a Failure to Appear warrant out of Pettis County from 2017 on original charges of Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Driving While Revoked, and Failure to Wear a Seat Belt. Bond on the FTA warrant was set at $150 cash only. Maria L. Romero, 34, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Romero was placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Prior Offender), Driving While Revoked, Failure to Register with the DOR, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and Improper Transporting of Children Under Sixteen Years of Age.

On the night of February 28th, Officers took at heft report at the Heckart Community Center, 1800 West 3rd Street. After speaking with the caller, she stated she had placed several items into a locker and did not put a lock on it. When she returned, she found that several items she had placed into the locker were missing, including an I-Phone and her glasses. There is no suspect information at the time of the report.

Monday night, a victim reported to the Sedalia Police that two individuals known to him were showing a property owned by him, and attempting to sell the same property in the 1600 block of South Moniteau Avenue.

On the night of March 9th, Officers responded to the 1200 block of West Spring Avenue for a report of an assault. After speaking with both parties involved and through investigation, no assault occurred. No charges will be filed.

Sedalia Police responded to the 2000 block of West 2nd Street for a theft report Monday morning. On arrival Officers met with Marianne F. Davis, who stated a gun was stolen from her vehicle overnight. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been located.

Monday afternoon, Officers responded to the Central Missouri Credit Union, 3120 West 10th Street, for a fraud report. On arrival, Officers met with bank employees who had received a fake $100 bill. On arrival to the scene, the subject involved was no longer present. The bill was collected and later placed into evidence for destruction.
