Thursday night*, Officers were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard for a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival, Officers detained two individuals as they were leaving the store. Noah James Mitchell, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Stealing. Mitchell is currently in violation of his probation from Pettis County on felony charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree, Receiving Stolen Property, and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device. Mitchell was put on probation in September of 2023, and the probation violation was filed in January of 2024. The other detained subject, Jessica Lea Reed, 27, was also placed under arrest for a charge of Stealing. Reed has a court date in April 2024 facing charges of Driving While Intoxicated, two counts of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, Receiving Stolen Property, and Fraudulent Use of a Credit Device. Both Mitchell and Reed were issued a summons and released on scene.

Late Tuesday night, Officers responded to the 700 block of East 5th Street in reference to a burglary. Rhiannon S. Berry stated someone had entered the residence and stolen various items. At this time, the investigation is still ongoing.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard, on Thursday night. Two individuals were detained by law enforcement as they left the store. Angie Marie Steeves, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Stealing. The other individual was not cited. Steeves was issued a summons to the Sedalia Municipal Court and released on scene.


 

*After clarification from the Sedalia Police Department Records Division, these two incidents at the Wal-Mart were declared unrelated. The Mitchell/Reed incident occurred about an hour and a half before the Steeves incident. Both incidents and arrests were filed by Officer Fellows.
