Sedalia Police Reports For March 30, 2022

Tuesday evening, Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of South Vermont Avenue in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers spoke to the subjects involved, and after that one subject was arrested for Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Corey E. Debates, 31, of Sedalia, was transported to the Pettis County Jail and placed on a 24 hour hold, with bond to be determined.

Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the area of East 13th Street and South Montgomery Avenue Tuesday night. The passenger vehicle was stopped for improper registration. While speaking to the driver, Officers noticed signs of impairment. Field sobriety tests were completed on the driver, who was ultimately determined to be intoxicated by drugs. Amy I. Clark, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs) and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 12 hour hold.

Tuesday morning, Officers responded to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a subject who wanted to turn themselves in for a warrant for their arrest. Dispatch confirmed the subject had a warrant out of the City of Sedalia for Failure to Appear on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Larry John Evans, 46, of Smithton, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where bond was set at $147 cash only.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1700 block of South Harrison Avenue in reference to a disturbance Tuesday evening. A subject on the scene was arrested for an active warrant out of Pettis County. Christopher D. Klein, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Officers conducted a pedestrian stop near the intersection of West 6th Street and South Vermont Avenue Tuesday night. Kerry B. Klobnak, 51, Homeless, was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be placed on a 24 hour hold.

Tuesday night, Officers were dispatched to the Police Station Lobby for a report of found property. Mildred Dorr turned in a debit card she found from the ATM in the 400 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Officers collected the card and contacted the card's owner. He came to the Police Station to pick it up.

Tuesday afternoon, Officers took a report in reference to an incident that occurred at the Sacred Heart School, 416 West Third Street. A juvenile was alleged to have taken a sexually explicit photograph of another juvenile at the school, and disseminated the photograph to other students at the school. The suspect has not been identified at this time.

Officers responded to the 400 block of Albright Court Tuesday afternoon in reference to a disturbance. The parties involved had already separated by the time Officers arrived on the scene. The subject that Officers spoke with was not willing to cooperate with the investigation. Officers attempted to locate the other subject involved, but were unable to. The incident was documented as a 12 hour domestic violence log. No charges are being pursued at this time.

Monday afternoon, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of West 5th Street and South Ohio Avenue. It was discovered that the driver of the vehicle had a suspended driver's license. William Freaderick Fizer Sr., 38, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended. Fizer was transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was booked and released.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Marshall Electrical Contracting, 1000 West Main Street Tuesday morning for a report of theft. When Officers arrived, they spoke with an employee, James G. Kilby. Kilby stated that sometime overnight, someone forced entry into their lot and stole a white 2014 Doolittle Cargo Master 16' enclosed trailer. The trailer was valued at $7,000 and the contained items inside were valued at $3,700. Officers took photos of the scene and attached them to the report. There are no suspects at this time.

Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of South State Fair Boulevard Tuesday morning for a report of theft. When Officers arrived, they spoke with Jesus Rubio. Rubio stated that in the overnight hours, someone illegally entered his vehicle and stole $530 in cash and his title to his 2013 BMW. There were no signs of forced entry. Officers took photos of the scene and attached them to the report. There are no suspects at this time.

Sedalia Police took a report of a stolen trailer from the 200 block of South Marvin Avenue Tuesday morning. The value of the trailer was estimated to be approximately $5,800. There was also approximately $7,602 worth of various tools and supplies inside the trailer at the time it was stolen. The trailer was later located in the 200 block of North Washington Avenue. It was then returned to the owner. No suspects have been identified at this time.

Monday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Police Station to meet with Sue A. Guffin. Guffin found what she believed to be drugs at the corner of West Broadway Boulevard and South Carr Avenue. When Officers arrived, they made contact with Guffin. She stated she found the item on the street while she was out for a walk and brought it to the station. Officers took the item and placed it into evidence to be destroyed. There are no suspects at this time.
