Sedalia Police Reports For May 11, 2021

Monday evening, Sedalia Police responded to the Prime Time store, 216 West Broadway Boulevard, for a report of a stabbing. Officers made contact with Travis Crellin, who stated he was stabbed in the arm by an unknown suspect. The victim believed this was related to another incident that occurred on Saturday.
Officers responded to an unknown area near Welch Court for a report of disturbance Monday night. The caller reported a series of events they believed to be in violation of a court order they had against their neighbor. The suspect could not be contacted at the time. Approximately an hour later, the suspect contacted emergency services to respond back to the area for treatment of an injury he claimed to have sustained during the previously mentioned incident. The subject was transported for treatment. The incident is still under investigation.
Monday afternoon, Officers responded to 3815 South Limit Avenue, Ballard's Installation, for a theft report. On arrival, Officers spoke with Austin Lewis, who stated someone cut and stole the catalytic converters off of three work trucks behind the business. An estimated value of the damage was set at $2,500. At the time of the report, a suspect has not been identified.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Harrison in regard to a bike which had been left on the side of an alleyway Monday afternoon. The bike was recovered and placed into Found Property.
On the morning of May 6th, Officers were dispatched to Centennial Park, regarding an incident that occurred in the 500 block of East 16th Street. A city garbage truck reported picking up a large, heavy bag which appeared to be leaking a red substance appearing to be blood. The driver reported the substance soaking the inside of the dumpster in question, and also stated that it smelled like bleach, indicating someone might have been trying to cover something up. After additional investigation, the red substance was found to be degreaser. A report was completed to document the incident.
Last Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Horace Mann Elementary School, 1100 West 16th Street, to assist the Children's Division with a report of possible child abuse. The allegations were found to be discipline related and no relevant marks were observed. A report was taken to document the incident.
