Sedalia Police Reports for October 17, 2024

Officers were dispatched to the area of West 4th Street and Dal-Whi-Mo Court for a report of a theft. Officers arrived on scene, and spoke with Jessica Leigh Ann Schmitz, who reported an electric bicycle had been stolen. Officers gathered information and a report was completed.
Wednesday night, Officers with the Pettis County Joint Communications received a call for service of a robbery in the 1100 block of South Missouri Avenue. Sedalia Police responded to the scene, where it was determined an elderly male was walking when he was attacked by a younger male with a blunt instrument. The elderly male was robbed of his personal property. The suspect fled the scene on foot, only to be located near South Kentucky Avenue and West 10th Street. When Officers attempted to place the intoxicated suspect under arrest, he resisted. The suspect was placed in a WRAP device for protection of Officers and himself. During the initial arrest, an Officer received minor injuries. The suspect was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for a fit for confinement check. At the hospital, he assaulted three additional Officers. Kevin Mercado Gonzales, 19, Homeless, was arrested on charges of Robbery in the 1st Degree, felony Assault in the 2nd Degree, felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action, felony Resisting Arrest, Aggravated Assault in the 3rd Degree, and Aggravated Assault in the 4th Degree.
On the evening of October 11th, Officers were dispatched to the Sedalia Police Department lobby to meet with Danny Woodrow Kabler. Kabler wished to speak with an Officer in regards to a lost cell phone.
Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of East 3rd Street in reference to property damage. The property damage had been done to a building that has been vandalized and damaged previously.
Wednesday morning, Officers responded to the 1200 block of South Osage Avenue in regards to a firearms theft. Officers met with Kevin Dee Zeisset, and gathered information to generate a report.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 600 block of East 11th Street in reference to reports of fraud and harassment. On arrival, Officers gathered information from the reporting party, who was not named in the report.
