Wednesday evening, Officers were dispatched to a retail store at 3201 West Broadway Boulevard. Officers reported to the parking lot to investigate a hit and run accident. Officers arrived on scene, gathered information from Jack Eugene Cox. Officers also gathered documentation and video of the events. A report was completed.


 

Last Friday night, Officers stopped a vehicle near East 14th Street and South Ingram Avenue after it failed to stop at two different stop signs. The operator of the vehicle was intoxicated by drugs. He was also found to be a non-compliant sex offender, who had failed to register*. Austin Jakob Roerdanz, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs) and felony Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. Roerdanz was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.


 

Thursday night, contact was made with an intoxicated driver in the 100 block of Autumn Avenue. Laura Lynne Skrzypczak, 51, of Sedalia, was arrested on a municipal charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Skrzypczak was booked in at the Pettis County Jail pending release to a sober person.

Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of South Marvin Avenue and East 4th Street on Sunday night for a vehicle that had disobeyed a stop sign. The driver was found to have a suspended driver’s license. Luis Lamberto Leon Lopez, 23, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Suspended. Lopez was released on scene with a municipal summons.


 

Thursday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the area of South Carr Avenue and West Broadway Boulevard for a report of a physical disturbance in progress. Officers arrived on scene and interviewed subjects involved and witnesses. Officers gathered information from Christopher Wayne McCoy, Dante Price, and Tyler Nathaniel Tindell. A report was completed.


 

Sunday morning, Officers made contact with a subject in the 2500 block of Kay Avenue. The driver was found to have been driving while intoxicated on a revoked license. Nelson Rojas, 45, of Sedalia, was arrested on a felony charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Persistent Offender) and misdemeanor Driving While Revoked. Rojas was booked in at the Pettis County Jail, pending release to a sober person.


 

Officers were dispatched to the Sedalia Police Department lobby to speak with Michelle Burton Thursday morning. Burton wished to report an identity theft in the 2300 block of Lewis Circle.


 

Thursday afternoon, Officers responded to a used car lot at 3701 South Limit Avenue in regards to a stolen vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the reporting party to generate a report.


*According to the MSHP Sex Offender Registry, Roerdanz is a Tier I Sex Offender on original charges from 2020 of Sexual Misconduct in the 1st Degree, with the victim as a six-year-old male. Tier 1 is a sex offender classification for those convicted of lower-level sex offenses and considered to pose a lower risk to public safety. Tier 1 offenders typically have the least stringent registration requirements and register for a shorter duration than higher tiers. According to the MSHP Registry site, Roerdanz is listed as “Compliant.”
