Monday night, Sedalia Police were notified by the University Hospital in Columbia of a sexual assault that occurred in Sedalia. Information was collected that indicated a rape occurred in the evening hours of October 24th.


 

Officers responded to a found property call in the 1100 block of West Third Street Monday night. Laterra Patton and Barry Booker Cooper reported a black semi-automatic handgun was found in the back yard of a residence.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Motel 6 in the 3400 block of West Broadway Monday night for a domestic disturbance. Officers spoke with two subjects occupying a room on the second floor of the establishment. Both occupants of the room had different versions of what had occurred, but one of the two decided it would be best if they vacated the room for the evening. No arrests were made, and no other information was in the report.


 

Monday evening, Officers were dispatched to the Casey's General Store in the 1900 block of West Main Street for a missing persons report. Officers made contact with Lynette Ehlers, who advised her sixteen year old son had fled the area trying to evade her. The juvenile was entered as a missing person/runaway, and foul play is not suspected.


 

Sedalia Police responded to the 1300 block of East 7th Monday morning for a report of trespassing. Justin David Woolery, 34, Homeless, was contacted and was confirmed to have an active warrant on original charges of Speeding. Woolery was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Officers responded to the 400 block of East 7th for a report of trespassing Monday morning. Brandon Louis Srader, 39, was confirmed to have a Pettis County Warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree and Property Damage in the 2nd Degree. Srader was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.


 

Monday afternoon, Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Ohio Street for a report of a male suspect with a warrant. Bailey W. Bardin, 21, of Sedalia, was located, arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail on a Parole Violation warrant in regard to original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the area of the Woods East store in the 700 block of East Broadway Monday morning in regard to a domestic disturbance that had occurred in the area of East Broadway and South Massachusetts. In the course of this contact, it was found that one of the suspects involved had a warrant for Failure to Appear on original charges of Possession of Marijuana. David Lee Matthews, 24, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was held on a $60 cash only bond.


 

On October 11th, a suspect failed to scan several items while at the Wal Mart store in the 3200 block of West Broadway and left the store without paying. Through investigation, the subject was identified, and is involved in at least two other stealing incidents from the store. State charges of Stealing are being requested.


 

On October 9th, a suspect attempted to leave the Wal Mart store in the 3200 block of West Broadway with a cart full of items, despite not paying for them. After an investigation, it does not appear that a theft actually occurred. The report was generated as documentation of the incident.
