Monday night, Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of South Carr Avenue for a reported assault incident. Officers made contact with the caller, Samantha Skirball. It was determined an assault took place at an earlier time between juveniles. The suspect was identified, and a juvenile referral was completed.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 900 block of South Kentucky Avenue in reference to a possibly stolen vehicle Tuesday night. When Officers arrived, a computer check revealed the vehicle was reported stolen from Warrensburg. The vehicle was towed, but the owner was not able to be contacted.


 

Tuesday evening, Sedalia Police responded to the 500 block of East 4th Street for a report of an assault. Upon arriving, contact was made with the victim. She reported that she was struck in the face with a blunt object by the suspect. Contact was made with the suspect, and he was placed under arrest. During the course of that arrest, the suspect resisted arrest and attempted to hurt the Officers involved. The suspect had to be secured in the WRAP restrainment system and transported to the BRHC for a fit for confinement check. Cal A. Childers, 40, Homeless, was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in on charges of felony Assault in the 2nd Degree, Armed Criminal Action, felony Resisting Arrest, and misdemeanor Assault in the 4th Degree. Childers was placed on a 24 hour hold.


 

Officers responded to the DIY Garage, 110 East 7th Street Tuesday morning in reference to a theft. The complainant stated that in the late hours Monday, a U-Haul Trailer was stolen from their lot. Security video of the theft was recovered, and the investigation is ongoing.


 

Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle stop near the intersection of West 6th Street and South Missouri Avenue Monday afternoon. Adonis J. Mason, 26, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Revoked. A probable cause search of the vehicle located two small baggies of marijuana, which were seized for destruction.


 

Monday morning, Officers were dispatched to the Coyote Auto Sales, 1615 East Broadway Boulevard to take a report of theft. A dealer tag had been stolen sometime between September 29th and October 3rd of 2022.


 

Officers responded to the 1300 block of Montgomery Circle Monday afternoon to assist the Pettis County Children's Division with an investigation. Upon arrival, contact was made with a male subject who had several active Sedalia Municipal warrants. Jeremy Edward Pointer, 43, of Sedalia, was arrested for his two Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle and Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility, and his Probation Violation warrant on original charges of Trespassing. Pointer was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $220 cash only bond.

Monday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Ruth Ann Drive in reference to a vehicle theft. Kyle Birch stated their motorcycle was stolen between Sunday morning and Monday afternoon.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the Police Station lobby to take a report of forgery. Upon arrival, Officers met with Amanda Pounds, who stated that someone used her information to open a credit card account.


 

Sedalia Police initiated a vehicle pursuit on a stolen vehicle near the intersection of West 24th Street and Clinton Road Monday afternoon. The vehicle continued southbound to West 23rd Street, and then headed eastbound at a high rate of speed. The pursuit was terminated due to heavy traffic, and the stolen vehicle driver's poor driving.


 

Tuesday morning, Officers responded to the lobby of the Police Department to arrest a subject that wanted to turn themselves in on two Pettis County Warrants. Anna M. Kroenke, 53, of Sedalia, was arrested for her Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility and Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle. Bond was set at $236.00 cash only.


 

Monday evening, Sedalia Police took a report at the Police Department of domestic assault. The victim had video of the suspect hitting and kicking him. One video showed the suspect driving through the yard toward the victim. The victim did not want to press charges, but stated he wanted to file a report for documentation.


 

Officers responded to the 2400 block of South Grand Avenue Monday morning for a report of a deceased subject. The death was determined to be of natural causes. The deceased victim was transported to a funeral home.


 

Tuesday afternoon, Officers met with Ernest Keele in the lobby of the Police Department. Keele wished to report a hit and run accident. Keele stated his vehicle was struck while parked at the Bothwell Hospital, 601 East 14th Street. The striking vehicle left the scene without providing information.
