Sedalia Police Reports for October 7, 2024

Saturday morning, Officers responded to the 24000 block of Oak Grove Lane in reference to a report of a sexual assault. Information was gathered for a report, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Saturday night, Officers responded to the 1400 block of South Ohio Avenue in reference to a report of property damage. Contact was made with Christian Conner, who reported a rear windshield was shattered. A report was made.
Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to the area of South Grand Avenue and Wilkerson Street in reference to a hit and run accident. While checking the area, the suspect was located. The suspect was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above 0.08. Francisco Martinez Moreno, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol).
Sunday afternoon, Officers responded to a fast food restaurant located at 2701 West Broadway boulevard for a report of a motor vehicle collision. It was determined that one of the drivers involved had a revoked driving status. Gonzalo L. Medina, 38, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Suspended and No Proof of Insurance. Medina was booked and released at the scene.
On the evening of October 1st, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft report. Larry Coonce reported an individual they had power of attorney over was a victim of theft.
Saturday afternoon, an Officer was dispatched to a hit and run accident in the 600 block of East 24th Street.
Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 700 block of West 7th Street in reference to found property. The reporting party found two bicycles abandoned in their front lawn. The bicycles were picked up and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where they were being stored in evidence.
Officers responded to the 600 block of East 11th Street Friday morning in reference to a disturbance. The victim reported being assaulted and locked out of the house by the suspect. The victim had injuries to his head and face. The intoxicated suspect was later contacted and he resisted Officers by pulling away. Hermelindo Ak-Tek, 44, of Sedalia, was arrested for felony Domestic Assault in the 3rd Degree, and Resisting Arrest. Bond was set at $1500 cash or surety.
Friday evening, Officers responded to Vermont Park in reference to a male subject sleeping in the shelter. The intoxicated male subject was identified and found to have three active Failure to Appear warrants on original charges of Stealing, Driving While Intoxicated, and Peace Disturbance. Joseph Elmer Fore, 42, Homeless, was arrested for his warrants and transported to the Pettis County jail, pending a total cash bond of $801.50.
On the morning of October 4th, Officers were dispatched to the Liberty Park Apartments, to investigate a reported hit and run collision that occurred at the intersection of West Broadway Boulevard and South Limit Avenue. A report was generated in reference to the incident.
Friday morning, Officers were dispatched to a reported collision at the intersection of West Broadway and South Grand Avenue. Officers identified a suspect at the scene, and conducted a DWI investigation. Officers determined the suspect was driving while in an intoxicated state and was placed under arrest. Walter Vernon Baker, 54, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Driving While Revoked, Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility, and Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol and Drugs, Persistent Offender). Baker was placed on a 24 hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
Friday afternoon, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department to take a report of assault. Gary Horn reported a domestic assault that occurred in the 900 block of South Ohio Avenue. A report was generated.
