Sedalia Police Reports for September 12, 2024

Wednesday night, Officers responded to an assisted living facility at 1714 West 16th Street in reference to a warrant check. Officers arrived and made contact with the suspect, who had an active warrant out of Probation and Parole on original charges of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance. The arresting incident occurred in 2021, and he was placed on 5 years’ probation in 2023. The warrant was issued after the latest Probation Violation was filed in July of 2024. After a check with Dispatch, Michael Ray Butler, 31, of Marshall, was arrested for his warrant. Butler’s warrant was confirmed by hard copy a short time later. Butler was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in with no bond.
Officers were dispatched to Liberty Park, 1500 West 3rd Street, in reference to a possible suicidal subject. Contact was made with the subject, who was highly intoxicated. The subject was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center.
Wednesday night, Officers responded to the 1700 block of South Grand Avenue to investigate reports of a violation of an order of protection. The suspect violated the order after being served, as the order states she is not to come within 300 feet of the protected child or the adult involved, and cannot go the child’s school at Smith Cotton Junior High, nor is she allowed at the Tipton Correctional Center or the First Student Bus Lot. That order of protection was issued in November of 2023, and was to last until November 15th of 2024. Officers witnessed the suspect violate the order again by driving by the home when they (the Officers) were on scene. The suspect was stopped by another Officers and arrested. Jennifer Leann Richardson, 42, of Sedalia, was arrested for a Violation of a Full Order of Protection. Richardson was transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked in, and then placed on a 24-hour hold.
