Sedalia Police Reports for September 13, 2024

Thursday night, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was not displaying registration plates near South Moniteau Avenue and West 7th Street. During the course of the investigation, it was found the driver had a revoked driving status. Darrius Sheridan, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Revoked. Sheridan was transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he was issued a Uniform Traffic Ticket and a court date, and then released.
Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Boulevard because it had a registration violation. During the course of the investigation, it was found the driver was having a mental health crisis. The driver, who was not named in the report, was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for treatment.
Early Friday morning, Officers responded to the 800 block of West 7th Street to assist in a report of a subject who had fallen in their home. The subject was unable to open the locked door, so Officers forced the door open. The subject was then able to be treated by the Pettis County Ambulance District.
Officers were dispatched to an auto store at 2601 West Broadway Boulevard on the night of September 12th. The Officers were there to investigate reports of property damage. Employees told Officers a male subject came into the store and began to spray paint all over the shelves and the merchandise, causing several hundred dollars’ worth of damage. The suspect was identified, but has not been located at this time. Information was gathered for a report.
Sedalia Police responded to a smoke shop at 2927 West Broadway Boulevard to investigate a report of theft Thursday afternoon. A past stealing incident is under review. A suspect has been identified, but not located at this time. Information was gathered for a report.
Thursday night, Officers responded to a restaurant at 1613 South Limit Avenue in reference to a report of property damage. Officers arrived, and made contact with the victim, who stated a subject known to her had kicked her vehicle, causing damage. After further investigation, the suspect was located and interviewed in the 1800 block of South Barrett Avenue. Olivia Deann Rubio, 18, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Destruction of Non-City Property. Rubio was transported to the Police Station to be processed and issued a summons, with a court date.
On the afternoon of September 7th, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of West 18th Street to check the well being of a subject. Upon arrival, the subject was checked out, and determined to be okay at the time of the contact. About four hours later, another call came in regarding the same subject. The subject was transported to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, due to a medical issue that developed after law enforcement contact.
