Sedalia Police Reports for September 20, 2024

Early Friday morning, Officers responded to the 1000 block of West 7th Street in reference to a violation of a court order. The victim stated the suspect was under the residence and had firearms in his possession. The suspect was quickly detained in handcuffs without incident. Sean M. Robinson, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Armed Criminal Action, and Domestic Assault in the 2nd Degree. Robinson was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Jail.
Thursday morning, Officers responded to the 1200 block of East Broadway Boulevard in regards to a violation of an order of protection. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the reporting party to gather information for a report. Charges are being submitted on the suspect.
Last Sunday morning, Officers stopped a truck because it had improper registration in the area of East Broadway Boulevard and South Thompson Avenue. The driver was intoxicated by drugs. Mary Elizabeth Riley, 48, of Sedalia, was arrested on a felony charge of Driving While Intoxicated. Riley was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.
On the early morning of September 15th, a car was stopped at a Mexican restaurant located at 820 South Limit Avenue. The driver was found to have no valid license and was also intoxicated. Edward Nathaniel Newbill Jr., 51, of Sedalia, was arrested for Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Highway Without a Valid License, and Driving While Intoxicated. Newbill was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.
Thursday afternoon, Officers spoke with Jammie Morgan Newland in the lobby of the Police Station. Newland was reporting a delayed accident in the 1000 block of East 17th Street. The information was collected, and a report was submitted.
Sedalia Police stopped a car near West Broadway Boulevard and South Kentucky Avenue last Saturday night. The car was stopped because it had stopped past the stop line at the intersection of Broadway and Ohio, failed to use its turn signal, and made an improper turn onto westbound Broadway Boulevard. The driver was found to be intoxicated. Scott D. Woolery, 55, of Sedalia, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated. Woolery was transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked in pending release to a sober driver.
Thursday morning, Officers responded to the 600 block of West 2nd Street to investigate a report of burglary. When Officers arrived, contact was made with the caller, and information was collected for a report.
Officers took a report regarding harassment in the lobby of the Police Department Thursday morning. Officers spoke to the reporting party, who stated the harassment occurred in the 1900 block of East 7th Street. Information was gathered for a report.
Thursday afternoon, Officers responded to the 500 block of East 26th Street in reference to a warrant check. A subject was located who had several active warrants for his arrest. Five were issued after an incident in November of 2023. These FTA warrants were on charges of Driving While Suspended, No Seat Belt, Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle, Failure to Signal, and No Insurance. There was also an incident in September of 2023 where the subject was charged with Driving While Intoxicated after he came to the Police Station to report another matter. Officers noted his intoxicated state and had seen him park his vehicle after driving it up to the Police Station. After a search incident to arrest, the vehicle he was driving had marijuana roaches in the center console. The subject admitted he had been drinking. However, he did resist arrest while being transported to the Police Car to take him to the Bothwell Regional Health Center. While he was not charged with Resisting Arrest, he was charged with four instances of Driving While Revoked. Another incident in October of 2023 led to charges of felony Harassment in the 1st Degree and felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon. In that incident, the suspect was seen walking around an apartment complex with a large, approximately two feet in length machete. He stated he was “trying to catch his old lady” because he thought she was cheating on him, even though, according to him, she had left him six months prior. Another arrest was made for the suspect in May of 2024, on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, after Officers located a key chain with a silver container in the suspect’s backpack that tested positively for Cocaine. Marcus Mantrell McKnight, 36, of Sedalia, was arrested for his twelve warrants and transported to the Pettis County Jail. The total bond for the warrants was set at $60,000 cash or surety and $460 cash only.
