Sedalia Police Reports for September 23, 2024

On the night of September 13th, Officers conducted at traffic stop on a vehicle that was displaying an improper registration plate. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated, and had a revoked driving status. The driver was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department, where he provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be above .08. Evan Michael Cummins, 35, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Driving While Revoked and Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol – Persistent Offender). Cummins was booked and released at the Pettis County Jail.
Sunday afternoon, an Officer was dispatched to the 800 block of West 4th Street in reference to a theft report. Katherine M. Sisemore reported cash and a backpack were stolen out of their vehicle.
Officers were dispatched to the area of East 5th Street and South Wagner Avenue in regards to a report of a suicidal person. Officers arrived and made contact with the male subject Sunday night. The subject reported he was having suicidal ideations. PCAD was contacted, and they responded to the scene. The subject agreed to go with PCAD to the Bothwell Regional Health Center for voluntary mental health assistance.
Sunday afternoon, Officers responded to the 100 block of South Prospect Avenue in reference to a report of a violation of a court order. It was determined the respondent of the protection order had violated it. Charges are being submitted to the prosecutor for further review.
On the night of September 19th, Officers responded to the 2300 block of West Main Street in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival, two subjects had sustained injuries during the disturbance. One was treated by PCAD and released from the scene. The other was treated by PCAD and transported to the BRHC for further treatment. At this time, no charges are being pursued, and a general information report was made to document the incident.
Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration plates on Saturday night in the area of Clinton Road and Graham Road. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated by drugs. Dylan Loney, 19 of Oak Grove, was arrested on a charges of Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs). Loney was transported to the Pettis County Jail.
Sunday evening, Officers were dispatched to a retail outlet located at 3201 West Broadway Boulevard in regards to a shoplifter. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with a male subject who had been stopped by Asset Protection. Seth H. Ruch, 19, of Sedalia was arrested for a charge of Shoplifting. Ruch was released with a citation on scene.
Friday morning, Officers spoke with Benjamin Kadic on the phone. Kadic reported a threat via Facebook Marketplace. A report was completed.
Saturday evening, Officers were dispatched to the lobby of the Police Department in reference to a theft report. Michele Cason stated she noticed her dog was missing. The gate in the back yard was open, leading her to believe someone stole her dog.
Sedalia Police were called to the Sunset Village Manufactured Home Community, 4200 West Main Street, to investigate a call about a disturbance with injuries. Deputies with the Pettis County Sheriff’s Office requested mutual aid, and SPD responded to assist.
Saturday night, Officers made contact with a male subject who was passed out on the sidewalk in the area of South Ohio Avenue and East 2nd Street. Aaron Hawk Naber, 30, of St Louis, was arrested and transported to the Sedalia Police Department to be placed on a 12-hour Intoxication hold.
Officers responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 East 14th Street to assist security guards with a combative patient on the night of September 21st. Officers gathered the information and a report has been generated.
On the afternoon of September 16th, Officers received a call from a gas station at 808 East Broadway Boulevard regarding a theft that occurred in the past. Upon arrival, information and video of the incident were gathered for a report. The suspect has not been located at this time.
Friday morning, Officers took a report in the lobby of the Police Department regarding a fraud. The complainant stated the fraud took place in the 2300 block of West Broadway Boulevard. Upon arrival, information was gathered to generate a report.
Saturday morning, Officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of East 4th Street for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, Officers me with a subject who stated his brother had pushed him down. It was later determined the suspect was also violating a court order by being on the property. Thomas Lee Murphy, 39, of Sedalia, was arrested on charges of Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree, and Violation of a Full Order of Protection. Murphy was transported to the Pettis County Jail, to be placed on a 24-hour hold.
On the afternoon of September 17th, a call came from a retail outlet at 3201 West Broadway Boulevard regarding a harassment incident. Upon arrival, information was gathered for a report.
Friday night, Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Autumn Avenue to investigate a domestic disturbance. The suspect was highly intoxicated and had provided a breath sample on PBT of .250. He was transported to the BRHC. While on scene, Officers spoke the suspect’s mother, who stated she had concerns for her safety and that of her 11-year-old son if the suspect returned to the house. When the suspect was released from the BRHC about three hours later, Officers called the victim to inform her the suspect was released. As Officers were speaking to the victim, they could hear the suspect yelling and screaming in the background. Officers asked the victim if she was okay, and she stated she was not. The suspect had threatened to punch her in the face. As Officers were speaking to the victim, the suspect stepped out of the house and told the victim she had “three seconds to come inside or her would lock her out.” The suspect then heard Officers talking about prosecution, and he quickly went back into the house. He then locked the doors and refused to come out. After some time, the suspect did come out and speak to Officers, but he was very verbally aggressive. He told Officers to “F*** around and find out.” According to the probable cause report, Officers told the suspect he was going to find out. Officers then placed the suspect under arrest. He had to be forcefully sat inside the car. Then, the suspect began hitting his head on the cage inside the patrol unit. Subsequentially, he as then removed from the patrol unit to be placed into a WRAP restraint system. Officers spoke with the victim and her young son, who was a witness to the altercation, and they were told about CASA and Ex parte. Kyle Gregory Lindgren, 29, of Sedalia, was arrested on a charge of Aggravated Domestic Assault in the 4th Degree. Bond was set at $2500 cash or surety.
