Sedalia Police Reports For September 28, 2021

Monday night, a truck was stopped in the area of South Madison Avenue and East Broadway Boulevard for failing to stop at a stop sign and expired plates. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was intoxicated by drugs. Summer Joy Teeter, 42, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated (Drugs), transported to the hospital, and then to the Pettis County Jail. State charges of DWI, Failing to Stop at a Stop Sign, No Proof of Insurance, and Expired/Improper Registration are being requested.

Early Tuesday morning, Officers observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign. After getting behind the vehicle, the vehicle failed to stop at an additional two stop signs. A traffic stop was conducted in the area of South Kentucky Avenue and West 20th Street. The driver's information was run through Dispatch. The driver consented to a search of his person and the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, a small amount of marijuana was located and seized for destruction. The driver was released from the scene.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 600 block of East 18th Street Monday night for a property damage report. Officers spoke with Timothy Proctor and took information to complete a general information report in regards to someone driving into his garage. A driver condition report was completed and sent to the Department of Revenue at Proctor's request.

Monday night, Officers responded to the 1500 block of West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a subject check. An Officer made contact with a subject, who provided their information, which showed they had two active Failure to Appear warrants. Kimberly M. Draheim, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Bond on her felony Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance is $50,000 cash or surety. Bond on her Failure to Appear warrant for Expired Plates is $89 cash only.

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the 1500 block of South Grand Avenue for a 911 call hang up Monday night. When Officers arrived on the scene, they learned that a domestic disturbance had taken place between a male and a female subject. A primary aggressor could not be determined, and there were no obvious visible injuries to either party. A 12 hour log and detailed report documenting the incident were completed.

Monday morning, Sedalia Police responded to the 700 block of West 24th Street in reference to a possible break in. George Rich reported his shed was broken into overnight. No items were believed to have been taken from the residence at the time of the call. A report was made to document the incident, but there are no suspects at this time.

Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding in the 1800 block of West Main Street Monday afternoon. A computer check through Dispatch revealed the driver had an active Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving Without A Valid License. Bond was set at $150 cash only. Cody W. Hayworth, 27, of Sedalia, was arrested on the warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail for booking.

On the afternoon of September 23rd, Officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of East 6th Street in reference to a disturbance. Officers were told a female subject was assaulted by an intoxicated subject known to her. Officers located Nickie E. Smith, 35, of Sedalia, and she was issued a municipal summons for assault.

On the morning of September 23rd, the Sedalia Police Department's Crime Resolution Unit, assisted by the Tactical Entry Unit, executed a no knock narcotics search warrant in the 1000 block of West 4th Street. Upon entry into the residence, several individuals were contacted and detained without incident. During a search of the residence, items related to drug activity were found. These included methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and drug packaging items. Jacob Colton Astor, 30 and Holden Boyd Browning, 31, both of Sedalia, were arrested for Distribution of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Both Astor and Browning were placed on a 24 hour hold pending charges.

Monday morning, Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Woods Supermarket, 701 East Broadway Boulevard, in reference to a suspect that was trespassing inside the store. Officers arrived and located the suspect in the liquor aisle of the store. Lori Lynn Hadley, 49, of Sedalia, was placed under arrest. Incident to arrest, marijuana was located inside Hadley's purse. Hadley was booked and released pending the filing of state charges of Trespassing in the 1st Degree and Possession of Marijuana.
