Wednesday evening, Officers responded to the area of West Broadway Boulevard and Thompson Boulevard for a report of a hit and run vehicle collision. Daniel Cavaness stated the driver of the other vehicle ran the red light at Broadway and Thompson, causing the collision. The suspect vehicle then left the scene without attempting to exchange information. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Wal Mart store, 3201 West Broadway Boulevard in reference to a missing wallet Wednesday night. Nathel Tait said they believed their wallet was stolen as they had left/dropped it on Wal Mart property. Video footage was reviewed, and while it was undetermined from the video if the wallet was dropped or stolen, the wallet was later recovered nearby. The wallet was missing almost $300 in cash. A suspect has not been identified.


 

Officers responded to the 400 block of East Broadway Boulevard in reference to a missing juvenile Wednesday night. Officers were able to locate the juvenile, and then return them home.


 

Wednesday afternoon, Officers took a report in the Sedalia Police Station lobby in reference to a vehicle theft that had occurred in the area of West 9th Street and South Kentucky Avenue. Mary J. Dooley stated she had noticed her vehicle missing earlier in the day. No suspects have been identified at this time.


 

Tuesday night, Officers initiated a traffic stop on a car that stopped over the stop line near the area of East Saline Street and North Engineer Avenue. The Officer smelled the odor of marijuana and searched the vehicle. A scale with a white residue was located in the car and seized, but no charges were sought.

Officers initiated a traffic stop near East 7th Street and South Arlington Avenue on a vehicle with improper registration Wednesday evening. A check through Dispatch showed the passenger had an active Christian County warrant for two felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one felony count of Receiving Stolen Property with a $25,000 cash or surety bond. Jennifer Lynn Neighbors, 39, of Green Ridge, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail to be booked.


 

Sedalia Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of East Broadway Boulevard and South Porter Avenue Wednesday evening for a license violation. The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, and was not pursued due to the risk to the public.


 

Wednesday morning, Officers were dispatched to Simmons Bank, 818 Thompson Boulevard, in reference to identity theft. The employee stated that someone had called the day prior and provided sensitive information in order to change contact information on file. It was later determined this person was not the account holder.
