Sedalia Police Reports of October 16, 2024

Tuesday morning, Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with excessively dark window tint. The vehicle was also seen failing to maintain its lane of travel. During the course of the investigation, it was determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested, and refused to provide a breath sample. A search warrant was obtained, and a blood draw was conducted. Kyle H. Sidebottom, 33, of St Genevieve, was arrested on a charge of Driving While Intoxicated (Alcohol).
Sedalia Police conducted a vehicle stop at a restaurant located at 1613 South Limit Avenue Tuesday night. The driver was found to have an active warrant for their arrest. The warrant was issued in August of 2024 after an incident in March of 2024. The Pettis County Failure to Appear warrant was issued on charges of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Maintaining Financial Responsibility. Leonela Leon, 25, of Sedalia, was arrested for her warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Leon was booked in on her warrant, pending a $147.00 cash only bond. A court date was set for later this month.
Monday afternoon, Jason Cranmer brought in a wallet he had found in the 1700 block of West Broadway Boulevard. The owner could not be located, and the wallet was secured into evidence.
Officers conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of South Carr and West Broadway Boulevard on a vehicle because it had expired registration on the morning of October 15th. Officers checked the driver’s information with Dispatch, and it was discovered the driver had a warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued in August of 2024 after an incident in June of 2024. The warrant was issued by Morgan County on original charges of Failure to Display Plates on a Motor Vehicle or Trailer. Bond was set at $200 cash only. Martin Thomas Baughman, 34, of Tipton, was arrested for his warrant and transported to the Pettis County Jail. The warrant stipulates the defendant shall submit to a chemical test or tests of defendants breath, blood, saliva or urine for the purpose of determining the alcohol or drug content of defendants blood at anytime requested to do so by any law enforcement or court officer, and upon a refusal to take the test or a positive test result, defendant shall remain in custody until further order of court.
