Sedalia Woman Arrested After Traffic Stop
A Sedalia woman was arrested on June 24 for possession of a controlled substance and an active failure to appear warrant following a traffic stop.
Police say a Buick Park Avenue was stopped for not having license plates near. N. Engineer and E. Saline St. The driver, 47-year-old April Louise Smasal, had an active Sedalia municipal warrant. Smasal was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she reportedly told officers that she had an empty bag hidden on her person. A Sedalia police report says the bag had methamphetamine residue inside.
Smasal was booked in for the warrant and for possession of a controlled substance. She was given a court date of July 18.
