According to a press release from State Fair Community College, a recent SFCC Roadrunners Booster Club golf tournament, raised almost $5,000 for the athletic programs at State Fair Community College. The fundraiser was held at Indian Foothills Golf Course in Marshall.

“The proceeds from the golf tournament will be used for things that are not covered in the budgets for each of the sports,” said SFCC Athletic Director Darren Pannier.

Teams were separated into A and B flights. The winners were:

A flight: Andrew Treuner, Kyle Herrick and Barry Guier, first place, 56; and Jason Kempton, Sean Paul and Steve Sobaski, 58.

B flight: in a scorecard playoff, Gary Noland, Jim Marcum and Phillip Sawyer, first place, 62; and Bill Dicks, Mike Clements and Jerry Fillinger, second place.

Golfers also could participate in individual contests. Eddie Horn won for longest putt; Lynda Alcorn for women’s longest drive; Sean Paul for men’s longest drive; and John Smeltzer for closest to the pin.

“We appreciate everyone who participated and all our sponsors,” said Pannier. “The community support helps our student-athletes be successful both in the classroom and on the fields and courts of competition.”
