State Fair Community College  Lady Roadrunners sophomore midfielder Melissa Martinez of Bolivia will continue her academic and athletic career at Mount Marty College, an NAIA school in Yankton, South Dakota.

Martinez earned Second-Team All Missouri Community College Athletic Conference honors as a sophomore. She started and played in 15 games for the Lady Roadrunners this season. She tied for the team lead in goals scored with two and tied for the team lead in assists with two. Martinez led her team in points with six.

“Melissa was a big contributor as a freshman,” said Head Coach Jaime Beltran. “During her sophomore year, she was also a go-to player in the midfield. Melissa is at her best when she can be in an attacking midfield role.”

As a freshman, Martinez played in 15 games and started 11. She scored one goal and registered three assists, which placed her in a tie for second on the team. She also had five points, which placed her in a tie for sixth on the team.
