Sedalia School District 200 has been informed that members of the Smith-Cotton High School varsity and JV boys basketball programs have tested positive for COVID-19, the district said on Friday afternoon.

Those individuals are in quarantine at home. As close contacts, the rest of the players on both teams also will quarantine for the required period of time as outlined by the Pettis County Health Center; they will monitor any symptoms should they occur.

Games to be played during the quarantine period have been rescheduled.

The district has reported these cases to the Pettis County Health Center, as required by current Missouri law.

The district’s COVID-19 dashboard tracks active positive cases and quarantines among students and staff members. The dashboard is updated daily; each Monday, the district provides an email roundup of the previous week’s cases. The dashboard is at https://www.sedalia200.org/Page/1199

The dashboard currently does not include the positive cases and quarantines from the basketball teams; those will be added when the district receives documentation from Pettis County Health Center.
