Smith-Cotton Cross Country Takes Second at Invitational

The Smith-Cotton boys and girls cross country teams each took second place at the S-C Invitational on Saturday at Clover Dell Park.

Smithton was first in the boys division and Salisbury won the girls division.

Boys medalists for S-C were Will Hooton, fourth place in 18:50, and Lennyn DeLeon, 12th in 20:09. For the Lady Tigers, Lyubov Kornev was fifth in 24:18, Ashley Fisher was 10th in 25:42, and Leia Goodwin, 12th in 26:49.

Coach Tara Clark said, “I’m really proud of the effort of all our runners. We don’t have the depth as in years pass but their effort and positive attitude is really high.”
