Smith-Cotton High School vocal music students earned 20 Exemplary (1) ratings and 10 Outstanding (2) ratings at MSHSAA District Music Festival at State Fair Community College. Senior Dalton Shepard and junior Alex Beard each earned 1 ratings in three separate performances.

Students who received 1 ratings qualified to perform April 26-28 at the MSHSAA State Music Festival at the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Receiving 1 ratings for their solos were seniors Madison Lamb, Kirstin Weller, Kandyn Hotsenpiller, Nathanial Laven, Andrew Poteet and Shepard; juniors Alex Beard, Ethan Beard, Olivia Dailey and Alyssa Lowe; sophomores Macy Broyles, Lauren Gray, Breana Hoover, Morgan Mateja, Marshall Noble and Cora Sadler; and freshman McCade Curry.

 

Ensembles receiving 1 ratings were the Tiger Mixed 8 (Derrick Gilger, Sharra Gilger, Chandler Gray, Macey Hoover, Aaron Hughes, Lamb, Shepard and Weller), the Tiger Men’s 3 (Derrick Gilger, Chandler Gray and Shepard) and the Tiger Men's 4 (Alex Beard, Brinton Beard, Ethan Beard and Gabe Decker). Alex Beard also received a 1 for his piano solo.

Receiving 2 ratings were junior McKenna Perusich; sophomores Ashley Webb and Bridget Young; and freshmen Anglina Donatti, Chloe Fiet, Kayla Holloman, Kinzie Lamb, Colton Motsinger, Orion Sanchez and Meredith Tester.
