Smithton Girls Soccer Honored by Pettis County Commission

On Wednesday, the Pettis County Commission recognized the Smithton Girls Soccer Team and their coaches for their fourth place finish at the Class 1 Missouri State Tournament, which ended June 6-7 at Missouri Valley College in Marshall.

The Smithton Lady Tigers lost to Blair Oaks, 4-0, on June 6 and lost to Barstow, 2-0, on June 7.

“Through hard work and teamwork you’ve shown that a small-town team can stand shoulder to shoulder against the biggest programs in the state. You’ve made Pettis County proud and we can’t wait to see what’s next for every single one of you. Congratulations ladies!” commented Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza.
