Smithton Woman Accused of Switching Bar Codes on Items at Walmart
A Smithton woman was arrested on October 6 and is accused of stealing from Sedalia's Walmart.
According to a police report, officers were told by a Walmart employee that the suspect had removed bar codes from inexpensive items, placed them over the bar codes of more expensive items, purchased the items with the switched bar codes and attempted to leave the store.
29-year-old Jordan D. Rhodes was contacted by Walmart staff and the items were returned to the business. A charge of stealing is being submitted to the state prosecutor.
Rhodes was also found to have two active Pettis County warrants for driving while revoked. She was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail.
