Stephanie Jackson Hired as Principal at Parkview Elementary School

On Monday night (April 23), the Sedalia School District 200 Board of Education approved the hiring of Mrs. Stephanie Jackson, assistant principal at Smith-Cotton Junior High School, as principal at Parkview Elementary School. She succeeds Mrs. Kelly Sobaski, who last week announced her retirement, effective at the end of the current school year.

Mrs. Jackson has been assistant principal at the junior high since 2011. Prior to that assignment, she was literacy coach at Heber Hunt Elementary School (2007-2011), taught fourth and fifth grade in the Boonville R-1 School District (2000-2007) and taught fourth grade at Skyline Elementary School (1998-2000).

Mrs. Jackson thanked Superintendent Dr. Harriet Wolfe and assistant superintendents Mr. Brad Pollitt and Dr. Nancy Scott for “giving me the opportunity to take this next step in my career.”

“I am looking forward to carrying on the reputation that Mrs. Sobaski and the Parkview staff has created,” Jackson said. “Being a former elementary teacher and instructional coach, I believe I will be able to bring my experiences to continue to support the staff, increase student achievement and build strong student/parent relationships.”

“Stephanie has a strong background in curriculum and instructional strategies, especially at the elementary level," said Dr. Wolfe. "She is a high flier, a go-getter, and her experience at the junior high has broadened her administrative background, making her the right choice for Parkview.”

A graduate of Pilot Grove High School, Mrs. Jackson earned a bachelor of science degree in Elementary Education and Special Education-Cross Categorical in 1998 from Missouri Valley College, a master’s degree in Education in curriculum and instruction in 1999 from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a master’s degree in Education Administration in 2005 from Lindenwood University.

Mrs. Jackson and her husband, Chad, have two children.
