Sedalia and the surrounding area experienced a powerful storm that blew through around 10:30 this morning.

Reports of 60 mph wind gusts caused damage to trees buildings such as that seen at the Tallman Company, 1400 N. Missouri. Remnants of the roof were scattered on the east lawn of the business, billed as a "classic bath design center," as seen from Highway 765. High winds also took down a tree about two blocks south of that location.

Dollar General on North Ohio was still closed due to no power as of 1:30 p.m.

At the peak of the action, more than 2,500 KCP&L customers were affected by the storm.
