On Monday just before midnight, the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force, along with the Pettis County Sheriff's Office, conducted surveillance in the 3400 block of West Broadway.

Deputies observed a male identified as Quiton N. Gano, who had an active warrant out of Morgan County for driving while revoked or suspended, with a $300 bond.

Pettis County deputies stopped the vehicle Gano was in after it left the area due to traffic violations. The driver was identified as 40-year-old Rachel A. Cross of Sedalia. Gano, 38, was a front-seat passenger. There was also a rear seat passenger, not identified.

During the stop, deputies and task force detectives were given consent to search the vehicle, which resulted in a large amount of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Gano and Cross were both charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. They were placed on a 24-hour hold, pending the filing of formal charges by the Pettis County prosecutor.
