Sedalia's new T.J. Maxx store will open for the first time this weekend in the Thompson Hills Shopping Center.

T.J. Maxx occupies the space that Goody's vacated in 2016. The Sedalia store will celebrate its grand opening at 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 8.

Kim Allen, executive director of Child Safe of Central Missouri, says that T.J. Maxx will use the occasion of their grand opening to help support Child Safe. "Child Safe has been chosen to receive a grant from the TJX Foundation to celebrate the event! We are thrilled to have another business in our community who is giving back and making a difference. Please come early and join the Child Safe Team at this grand opening. We are going to arrive between 7:15 and 7:30 we would love to see you there."

T.J. Maxx is an off-price retailer. For us, value is a combination of fashion, brand, quality and price. Unlike traditional retailers, we generally don’t do promotions, sales, coupons or other gimmicks – just brand name and designer fashions that are 20%-60% less than department and specialty store regular prices on comparable merchandise, every single day! We’re also not an outlet store. An outlet store typically sells merchandise from a single manufacturer. We are different – we offer you brands from thousands of vendors around the world!" - TJMaxx.com

T.J. Maxx has over 1,000 stores, nationwide. The chain has approximately 8 locations within 100 miles of Sedalia.
