Three people were injured in a three-car crash that occurred Friday afternoon in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2014 Chevy Cruze, driven by 17-year-old Blake D. Jenkins of Warsaw, attempted to avoid stop sticks on US Highway 65, south of 32nd at 2:53 pm.

The Cruze entered the southbound lanes of Highway 65 and struck a southbound 2000 Toyota Tacoma driven by 70-year-old Nikolay D. Yeremenko of La Monte. The Toyota then hit a southbound Chevy Truck driven by Levi S. Begley of Lebanon.

Jenkins suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene, but was transported anyway by PCAD to University Hospital.

Blake's passenger, 25-year-old Trevor J. Jenkins of Sedalia, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to University Hospital by PCAD.

Yeremenko suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.

All three were reportedly wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash.

The Chevys had extensive damage, while the Toyota had moderate damage. All three vehicles were towed.

Sedalia Police and Pettis County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
