The Tipton Lady Cardinals took the first-place Kaysinger Conference trophy home with them Friday night after a hard-fought battle with the Sacred Heart Lady Gremlins at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the SFCC campus during the girls championship game of the tournament, sponsored by W-K Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac.

The Lady Cards won, 44-40, and are now the 2017 Kaysinger Conference champions.

In the third-place game, the Cole Camp Lady Bluebirds defeated the Smithton Lady Tigers, 56-36.

In the fifth place game, the Windsor Lady Greyhounds came out ahead of the Otterville Lady Eagles, 35-23.

In the first game of the evening, the Northwest Lady Mustangs defeated the Green Ridge Lady Tigers, 36-29.

The boys finals take place Saturday night, with the championship game scheduled for 8 p.m. between the Sacred Heart Gremlins and the Lincoln Cardinals.
