Two Arrested at Budget Inn on Drug Trafficking Charges
At approximately 4:30 p.m., Thursday, the Pettis County Sheriffs Office and the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force served a search warrant at Budget Inn, 4710 S. Limit Avenue.
This warrant was directed at one of the cabins located on the property behind the motel.
Surveillance was conducted throughout the day in wait for the target to appear. After a brief stop at the residence, the target left and a traffic stop was conducted by Deputy Jimmy Moore and K9 Cav, Sheriff Anders, and a task force detective. At this time, simultaneously, deputies executed the warrant at the cabin.
Arrested on the traffic stop for a weapons charge was Mando V. Thomas, 41, of Sedalia by way of California. Thomas is a known gang affiliate from that state.
Seized during warrant service was approximately two ounces of methamphetamine, paraphernalia, and another weapon (dismantled 1911 handgun).
Arrested at the warrant was Shannon Newton, 37, of Sedalia.

Trafficking 2nd Degree
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Unlawful Use of a weapon
Newton:
Trafficking 2nd Degree
Tampering with Physical Evidence
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
It's worth noting that two others were arrested Oct. 7 at the same location, also on drug trafficking charges.
