Two females were injured in a two-vehicle head-on collision that occurred in Pettis county Sunday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a southbound 2008 Ford Sedan, driven by 17-year-old Floresa Angel Lynn Greeley of Sedalia and a northbound 2009 Ford Escape, driven by 35-year-old Brittany N. Spellerberg of Independence at 6:32 p.m. both traveled across the center of the roadway and struck head on on Route M, just north of 28th Street.

Greeley suffered serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital Columbia by Life Flight. She died on Monday, June 8 at the hospital.

Spellerberg was transported by PCAD to Centerpoint Hospital with moderate injuries.

Spellerberg was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Greeley was not, according to the report.

Both vehicles were totaled. The sedan was towed by InMotion, while the Escape was towed by Don's Truck Towing.

Pettis County deputies and firefighters assisted the Patrol at the scene.
