Two females were injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Monday afternoon in Pettis County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a northbound 2017 Kia Soul, driven by a 17-year-old female from Sedalia, was on Cherry Tree Lane, north of Guier around 3:30 p.m., when the driver failed to negotiate a curve, causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway and strike a ditch and a tree.

Injured was the driver. She was transported by PCAD to Bothwell Regional Health Center with minor injuries.

Also injured was her passenger, 32-year-old Tiffany L. Vanhara of Sedalia. She was transported by PCAD to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. Vanhara was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.

The Kia was totaled and towed from the scene by Don's Truck Towing.

Pettis County Deputies assisted the Patrol.
