Two Hurt After Car Strikes Horse in Henry County
Two people were hurt in a Henry County crash that occurred Thursday night.
According to the MSHP, 26-year-old Lois Schofield of Warrensburg was the driver of a westbound 2005 Pontiac Gran Prix on Missouri 7, east of Highway W at 10:50 p.m. Sept. 20, when the vehicle struck a horse in the roadway, traveled off the right side of the roadway and came to rest in a field.
Schofield suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Research Medical Center by air ambulance for medical treatment.
Her passenger, 23-year-old Alissa M. Bearce of Warrensburg, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Golden Valley Hospital by EMS. Neither were wearing a safety device, according to the report.
The Gran Prix was totaled and towed from the scene.
Henry County deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
