A man was killed after being thrown from a Polaris RZR in Bates County Friday evening.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a 2023 Polaris RZR Pro XP Sport UTV, driven by 20-year-old Braydon D. Cannon of Hume, Mo., was northbound on SW County Road 13007, south of SW County Road 7008 (north of the Hume Cemetery) around 6:25 p.m., when the Polaris ran off the left side of the roadway, struck a fence, and Cannon was ejected from the Polaris.

Cannon was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:27 p.m., by Bates County Paramedic C. Stark.

His passenger, 20-year-old Logan A. Brooks of Amoret, Mo., (close to the Kansas border) had no injuries and refused any type of medical treatment on scene.

The Polaris had extensive damage and was towed by J's Southland Tow.

Bates County Deputies assisted the four Troopers on scene.
