An airborne crash in Benton County resulted in injuries for two Sedalia men early this morning.

According to the MSHP, a northbound 1999 Chevrolet driven by 22-year-old David L Matthews of Sedalia, traveled off the left side of the roadway on Missouri 83 at Branch Avenue at 2:10 a.m. The vehicle struck an embankment and a road sign, became airborne and traveled over an intersecting roadway and impacted the ground, overturned and came to rest on its wheels.

Matthews suffered minor injuries and was transported to BRHC by Warsaw-Lincoln EMS. He was not wearing a safety device. His passenger, 19-year-old Lucio Vasquez of Sedalia, suffered moderate injuries and was also transported to Bothwell by Warsaw-Lincoln EMS.

The Chevy was totaled and towed from the scene.

Benton County deputies assisted the Patrol.
